In response to: Wait a while before renaming things for Ted
We all loved Ted, but it took a couple decades in the senate before he deserved our respect, so waiting two years to decide on his monument is more than simply wise.

Why not feed Light Guv Tim Murray to the GOP wolves? The office is known as a "political graveyard" (remember Jane Swift and Kerry Healey) anyway, and this way Worcester's gift to Beacon Hill will be top dog for a year anyway.

In response to: It's over ! US Capt. freed, Pirates dead; Capt. Joseph Murphy, the father of Shane Murphy, holds news conference
In a space of 4 days the president carefully chose the time when the navy was fully prepared and sharpshooters had been brought to the scene, to save Capt. Phillips life rather than attempt the kind of cowboy actions which have brought America to its present reputation in the world.
Read the details above of the rescue and decide for yourself.

Animals have these advantages over man: they never hear the clock strike, they die without any idea of death, they have no theologians to instruct them, their last moments are not disturbed by unwelcome and unpleasant ceremonies, their funerals cost them nothing, and no one starts lawsuits over their wills. ~Voltaire

In response to: Big-money donors help bankroll Alliance's wind farm fight
Gee, imagine how much good those wealthy fat-cats could have done with that $16 million instead of being the unpatriotic, selfish pigs they are by trying to protect the oil and gas industry at the expense of America's security.
In another couple months Cape Codders will start getting the tar and feathers ready just as they did with the other Tories in 1776.

"{The second biggest factor affecting marine life is fishing, they add. Trawl-fishing for animals on the ocean floor, such as groundfish and shrimp, is especially damaging because the rest of the seafloor habitat is destroyed in the process, Halpern says.
The habitats that are suffering the worst impacts, rated "very high" in the study, are continental shelves, the shallow areas off the coasts of continents that are 200 to 750 feet (60 to 200 meters) deep.
Other areas with very high impacts include the northeastern U.S., where pollution, commercial shipping, and fishing are the major causes of harm... National Geographic..." see here.

In response to: Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Study now available online
As the Anti-Wind Farm Vigilantes know, this online newspaper is where we find stories the local media misses, and coal stories about a Cambridge start-up's hope to covert coal to NG is not a cape story by any stretch.
The company according to The Globe "...has run trials converting up to 2,000 pounds a day of coal into gas at its test plant in Des Plaines, Ill."
The fact that Neil Good isn't concerned about why our so-called "newspaper of record" doesn't cover the MMS report Cape Cod has been waiting for years to see, speaks volumes about their agenda.
In response to: Kinetic art, or ugly?
Energy Management is attempting to place a peak power plant on a dedemned waste land to answer the regional power grid's please for peake plant to ONLY run to prevent a black out - and YOU know it.

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it people will eventually come to believe it."
In response to: Cynthia Stead's RAMPAGE
When was the last time you heard any Democrats focusing on whether a candidate was gay or lesbian?
It is ONLY with young, dissident new blood like Maloy, Buckley, Howell and Bennett that the "Grand Old Party" will reclaim its stature the Bay State.
Barros and Stead have never won an election. Maloy, Bennett, Howell and Buckley all have, and they are young with new ideas like tomorrow's voters.
In response to: Cynthia Stead's RAMPAGE
A disastrous lawsuit led to his financial ruin in 1799 and he returned to England in 1800. Cobbett was found guilty of treasonous libel on June 15, 1810 and he was sentenced to two years in Newgate Prison.
So calling MS Stead a Tory is nothing more than how she describes herself.
In response to: Cynthia Stead's RAMPAGE
They tell me the voted for GOP men like Frank Sargent, Ed Brook and Elliot Richardson even though they were both registered Democrats because the GOP was in the tradition of Lincoln rather than Romney, Gingrich and the rest of the religeous right wing of that party today.
In response to: Tourism up; Cape couple wins against subprime lender; Cape Wind confident in MMS
Perhaps Neil assumes Mother Teresa had an ulterior motive for the good she did.
You APNS characters should get some help before your kids start asking you "what did you do back during the renewable energy revolution, daddy, mommy?"
Telling them you helped stop America's first offshore wind farm probably ain't gonna cut it with them in a few years when they're paying $4 again for gas and OPEC cuts off our oil supply like they did in the 1970's.

This weakly rag has no guts or wisdom any longer. Sarah Peake is a dangerous character to foist on the enlightened Lower Cape. Aaron Maloy may be young and inexperienced (thank GOD!), but MS Peake has shown her arrogance and all-knowing hauteur often enough to alert even the bush-league scribblers at The Cape Codder.

When he was squeezed out by the new conservative breed there, the newspaper's fifty years of Liberalism (or at least Progressive Republicanism) left with many readers and the newspaper started a wild swing to the ring.
The new publisher John Wilcox who replaced Breisky's old boss Scott Himstead came from Joplin MO and brought the Dow-Jones/WSJ bias with him. He got rewarded by being named President of Ottaway Newspapers.
Peter Meyer hopes to follow suit.

It is extremely unusual for a major, metro daily newspaper like the Herald to focus on a little-know PR Flack when he gets busted for boozing.
This indicates to me that old Ernie has made some serious enemies in that newsroom and others. We has promoted lies and deceits about Cape Wind, and that probably means he's done at least that bad or worse to some big players in Bean Town.
In response to: What's wrong with the CNC poll or survey?

NOAA, the Weather Channel and all the other TV networks are reporting that Cape Cod and the Islands are the coolest places in all New England with temperature possibly getting to 85 on the cape, which is the temperature in Hyannis at noon today.
Crying "wolf" like this is dangerous and irresponsible. When the real heat wave comes your readers will ignore you.

I can never recall a time in our history when Americans didn't take pride in any citizen's accomplishments.
This is raw racial hatred and nothing less.
If our President was white these bigots would be dancing in the street.
