When last I was on Cape Cod, I feared the most that the Cape towns and villages will become too commercial.
Their are always, boards, investors that want to slap down money to build more of everything.
I recommend the townships to see to it that they issue bonds so the same investors to invest in the townships, rather than seek to raise any sort of taxes. No one likes taxes.Issue a 3% to 7% earned interest, 5 year or 10 year note. Promote it and you have a sure thing going.
No one will listen. Not the State of Arizona, California, or Congress. And yet every state relys on taxes, while people are investing in foreign securties to make that extra buck ! It is being promoted.
I have checked this out with people who have commented in favor.
Question: Why can't people invest in their own State and their own Country?
We have one problem. people who from WW11 are still trying to collect from Washington on those war bonds, to date.
The treasury wants more proof that they are the people who they say they are.
A simple Notary sworn affidavit should be all that should be required.

In response to: Where is Barbara Tuchman when we need her?
We have fought wars with countries, like the people of Afghanistan, who have nothing !!! They will never put down their weapons. They live to fight and die, if they must. While we fight to defend and secure our country, and live. There Ideology in Afghanistan has more meaning to the people. Lives are expendable.
Japan would never have surrendered in
WWII, had we not used the bomb.
As of now Pakistan is feeling the loss and heat from suicide bombers. WE are in the middle. Some want us to stay. Many want us to leave. The Middle Eastern countries should be pressured to deal with their neighbors. The war should shift responsibility to them. We can't stand to be involved in a hundred years war.
One opinion today was that Our
President will look weak if he does not decide soon to send more troops. That is just an opinion! Wanting us to be more involved in this war that has no end.
The people of Afghanistan have too many religious beliefs, terrorists, tribal warlords, poor leadership to see peace come, with more fighting from this war.

In response to: Results of NY's 23rd signals end of GOP. Here's why.
In view of the fresh pain the loss of lives at Fort Hood, and a soldier that killed another marine in Camp Lejeune in N.C. As a politically divided country, we should be a shame of all this ranting and power seeking. Playing games and blaming while our country is caught up in wars, with killing from one end of the globe to the other.
Our future lies in the people and the people who represent us.How small we speak, while our issues get larger each day without reaching solutions. Our military are trying to do what is best for our country, while the naysayers and Congress contine to divide.
If A Republican can not understand the need to unite. If a Conservitive does not understand we can't run this country on the cheap. If a Democrate bounces from one side of the isle in Congress to another. If A liberal does not have a solid agenda to offer. If we can't respect change, with out fear. Then and then only we are in trouble.NHG

Liability in health care,in schools. Business that avoids liability like the plague.
For those seeking the truth in politics,It is a fallacy.
Change is what is scary. Ideologies are a factor. A government that controls their people can go unnoticed. We are experiencing people who believe in R. Limbaugh, whose words are as close to treason.
"For the Common Good!" is obsolete! People who have, are afraid that they will lose all they have. Afraid to believe,so they mouth off that our President is going to take it all away. The GOP sells fear like fresh fish.It is snapped up from their weakest link, Mr. Boehner. What has been written by Richard is all that the GOP does not want to hear, nor believe.
To all that supported the past eight years of Bush will never admit they were controlled. That is how Hitler came to be.
A lady I met in Florida, believed living in Germany that Hitler did a lot for her country.
Their still are people that believe bush did a lot for our country. Try R. Nixon for more of those seeking truth. Not to mention B. Clinton. "Freedom of Fear!" FDR.

In response to: Bushitis, An Unproductive Mindset
I never use the word liar. An Oil man who became President, later to be surrounded by people as Dick Cheney, who till this day is pushing his will on all of America. If oil was not so important, we would not have gone to war. Bush went from a President,to a Controller. The Pied Piper in Reality. Bush knew nothing about Middle Eastern culture. His controlling was worse than being called a liar. Bush led us to credence and allowed Americans to go to what he felt was a just war. Their are a lot of instances that prove this to be true. The Middle East owning billions of dollars in oil reserves and securities. Bush believed that a war in the middle east would be a push over.
In eight years Bush followers could not see through the past administration. They could not see what Bush was. How he saw himself. How he really is.
He played with "A House of cards," that brought down our country to where it is today.. President Obama is working to get us off the Pied Piper's parade. He is having a hard time, because of the many Republican/Conservative believers.
Shame is being deluted,by Obama.

I am concerned about the amount of felons, and criminal incidents on Cape Cod.
I am aware of the amount of incidents and criminal behavior across the country. Is their similarities that exist on Cape Cod, of course on a smaller scale, due to the pressure of the economic conditions, and unrest we all are living in?
Has Cape Cod been targeted for more than usual criminals to carry out their destructive, robbing and lawlessness?

Here in Arizona a writer wrote, commenting on our Senator Jon Kyl, working on the Health bill voted NO to basic maternity benefits. His reason he stated was to protect the public and cut costs !!!
The writer wrote,"Since when did women not be part of the public? Of course he is protecting the insurance companies.
My best friend just married a wonderful lady with epilepsy, who is on medication, still experiences characteristic convulsive episodes. She has no health insurance!! Her Husband now can include her on his insurance plan to the tune of $290 dollars a month.
His back and other health problems belong in the American Medical Journal. The strong religious people that they are will help each other, I am sure, as dedicated as they are.
My point is for citizens demeaning what our President is trying to do.
A 4 month old infant was denied insurance because he was too big in weight for his age. An aid ran into a OR, during an operation, saying patient has no insurance.
To all those against our President's health plan, call your insurance company before going through a procedure.

When the day comes that Government becomes direction, not controlling. When people are not considered expendable. A direct link in reality. Reason not for leadership to be bigger than our country. American,Representative, Congressman or women who have studied the course,as listening to our fisherman who's life's experienced with so much courage. We will be what we want to be and how we want to live and to carry on tradition as Americans.
It takes one man or women to make or brake our country. It takes one man or women to elevate people to heights of success. The common man or women. 50% of our problems will seem so small. Wondering how we ever managed to allow all those who threw mud in our paths. Forcing their will on us.
Which all means, if we allow to be controlled, ruled, not governed. Listening to the loud obstructionists. We become what we hear and accept as the truth.
Our country is in a crises. Each day the voices of discontent get louder.
We have a great leader now. He sees our needs, wants, and affords.
For citizens to reject, hate, denounce.
divides us all.
09/24/09 @ 11:48 pm
I write further using Arizona as a staging state,In hopes that Massachusetts can see or use experiences from Arizona as to why Massachusetts needs to work harder to insulate their state from outside forces than can cripple our Government,or be instrumental in keeping our country divided. We are very divided in the southwest. Change here is forbidden. Number #1 being Excellence, we here are a Number #35 !!! I feel Massachusetts is a number #9 !!!
Nobody is a number #10. Massachusetts has so many highly intelligent citizens
Arizona citizens start their conversations with "The Liberals !" I define "Liberals as people who want to be allowed to be pioneers. Republicans/conservatives are controllers.
Like my wife as an example. She yells,"You left the light on in the screen Room." " I just got the nerve up to say,
" Please shut it!"
Liberals are bent on Progress. R/C parties is spent on looking for dirt and the cheapest way to run this country. A question? How much should our budget be set at to run a country with over 300 million people?

In response to: "YOU LIE"
Republicans have been taken in. They don't think so. Believe so!or want any part of change.
Listening to a Republican, is like going to a doctor. We had a doctor in Evanston, Ill. His name was "Doctor, Doctor."
Doctor Doctor telling his patient he is dying. the Patient says,
"Don't tell me I am dying! I will tell you when I am dying. I don't care what your tests show." "Where is the door! I have been thrown out of better places than this !"
If Republicans can listen to Rush Limbaugh, or this Charles Beck, then they have much to be sorry for.
We have more problems than we know what to do about it. More people and far few solutions.
I will complement Republicans when they get R. Limbaugh out of business. He is now the most likely person to put Republicans out of business. Today he was using an incident about kids on a school bus fighting between white and black kids. So what else is new?
He does absolutely nothing to UNITE OUR COUNTRY. An agitator from the first order.
09/17/09 @ 3:35 pm
To. Mr. Willinton. It is time for the Republican Party get down to brass tacks. Unite our communities, our States, our Congress. Their is no time left to spare. Division will tear a large hole in our ideology, our impressions world leaders take. our ability to lead in our country and our world.
Congress does not know what they are doing. Constantly looking over their shoulders of either party to see what they are doing. Divided we weaken ourselves. Their are too many people with too many problems, and not enough solutions.
While I write health insurance rates are going up even more. Banks increasing their interest rates. Controlling, even more.
While Republicans are trying to be dollar wise, expenses are soaring. The bitter anger, hate grows by the day.
Congress cannot keep up with our President, forcing our President to slow down while citizens in our country are dying and waiting for relief. If either party continue on the same path of business as usual we will have only ourselves to blame. The middle isle in Congress should be for energencies only. We must stand together.

In response to: A Labor Day Reflection On Corporatism And The Working Man
I call our ever present Rush Limbaugh our very own version of "Tokyo Rose !"
GOP has to Tell Rush, he is not helping matters. People are more angry. Radio Station should shut him down. "For the best interest of all Americans."
He runs very close,a fine line to treason. Freedom of speech is one thing. But Free treason is not accepted. GOP will lose because of his bad mouth ideology. 700,000 listen to him.

In response to: A Labor Day Reflection On Corporatism And The Working Man
Workers these days are expendable. People want government to be out of their face. Republicans/Conservatives did nothing to shut down Wall Street to stop the bonuses.Insurance CEO's are the controllers. Your life is in their hands.Yesterday in the middle of an operation in a hospital. Someone ran in the OR saying the present procedure was not covered by insurance.
All Frustration today is an acumulation of 8 years of being controlled.
I wrote to Intell corp. CEO. who built a $200,000 dollar plant in China. Not in Mexico to keep people their. or affordable work in our country. Having worked 6 years at a hospital.Knowing citizens are fearful for our wants needs and affords. Blaming our President.Siding with Rush the agitator, Stripping trust.Seeing myself what patients in the ER and the comings and goings of patients who have to fore go health care, because they can't afford insurance. An intelligent man, who knows himself he belongs in an institution, with behavoral mental disease, walking the streets. Who is to comit him and pay? No insurance. Change needed. Anger and hate aboard
08/31/09 @ 5:31 pm
My shrink once told me to not to tell your family how great you are! For what ever reason. Here I am a man of all seasons, for all reasons.
The best thing a Republican can do today is stop smiling. That is a false
impression that all is well.
We have to calm down our country. Not tomorrow! Today! The Republicans must send a message to Rush Limbaugh and his co-patriots, who take advantage of free speech. By true definition, dedication to all American people, shut down and clean out their desk by end of business day. Rush will harm and deplete anything Republicans have to offer. For the parties overlook. They have nothing to offer to enhance any further any solid contribution to progress, aside from fear selling and controlling.I am sorry. We must quiet down our citizens. They fear the worst.
As long and as old as I am, Republicans thrive on telling Democrats what they ought to be doing. What are Republicans going to do to unite our country? Allow more guns on the streets?
What ever happened to love thy neighbor?

In response to: Obama! I get Scared. Don't you?
I must add some humor! This is getting too tight.
When I was single, I use to want to share that I had a great week-end.
I would always fall for it. This salesman I worked with, every monday morning would pass by me, and
he would ask! "Did you have an affair? I of course would say "No!"
He would say, "I don't want to hear about it!
I don't want to hear about all the money problems! if I had five dollars in my pocket, I would have some one's pants on! (An old vaudville joke) If the money problem can be fixed. Don't talk about it. Fix it and then take the credit.

More each day voices and writers in the newspapers,(what is left of them) sound off that fear is taking over our country. We need to calm down! We are not expendable. WE are a lot stronger and braver! Never weakened.
If the conservatives/Republicans can't stand up to Rush L ,and others like him and tell them to pack their bags, and be gone by end of business day. There will be no change. His views have festered, divided, not all, but most to incite more fear. Rush and members of Congress have reduced our sense of security, for now and for how long.
Rush is yelling FIRE in speaker phones. The halls of Congress, in the halls of state legislatures, the halls of hospitals, on the sreets with Town Halls,on TV,in all phases of the media. Still 700,000 believe in Rush,or listen to Rush.
This chimmey sweeper, who calls himself a writer, is a very lucky man.Of course people will buy his books. He makes every word sound dirty.
No matter what happens we can make adjustments. The naysayers in Congress must call the White House and ask, "What can we do to help" Pull the plug on fear.
08/29/09 @ 11:21 pm
In order for the Republican party/Consertvatives to be a major decision and lawmaker in our country, they have to CALM DOWN OUR COUNTRY! I repeat calm down our country.
We have here in Arizona people who live with just their religion. They have poor pick up trucks, bad tires, the women look poorly and the children deserve better. MY wife has to go to Mexico to fix her teeth. There are people that can't work because they can't afford teeth!!! How can they get off welfare with out teeth?
We have each week a list of wealthy people that are helping the real estate business. Buying homes for cash, that sell for one million to five million,. Six or more buyers a week. Business papers, saying 6,000 or more homes are unable to be sold. The stimulus has a way to go yet. On the whole Republicans are up in arms. and I mean weapons. Fear rages 10/fold. The streets of Phoenix are like a shooting gallery.
Conservatives have influenced fear as a change. Change is truth, that is obsolete here in the west.
What can you do sir ! For Cape Cod? Citizens need health care.. A concerned vet.WW11

Anyone who is considered to carry on for Senator Ted Kennedy has to be an above average Giant. I remember a one Barbara Jordan. She just took anyone's breath away. She is no longer with us. She was a Giant of a leader. A women to be reckoned with in Congress.
Her name is President Simmons of "Brown university". I have been following her career.
We need some one dynamic to be sitting
in Ted Kennedy's chair or space. Congress should donate Ted's chair to his Library. His house would be the most fitting place for Ted's library, and museaum. In hopes that Hyannisport will avoid any commercial appearence. Left forever as is. A great place to find peace in one's journey through life. The offerings of the beach and Nantucket sound,is a place away from troubling times.
I now call "The PORT OF FREEDOM." Where American leadership was born free. We can't let history forget Hyannisport. Short minded people could not stand that the Kennedy family all was able to reach out to so many Americans. Ted Kennedy. A Senator for all seasons.

I will tell you what I told my father-in-law working with him for 8 years. He helped to make a business man out of me. The strongest I every knew. I said!
" I don't care what name or names you call me.! I have your daughter to care for, your grandchildren to provide for. We have a business to run!
He was a conservative. he left a 10 cent tip when their was 7 of us coming out of a restaurant. The Waitress felt he needed it more than she did.
"We have a country to run!" To the naysayers I say. We can't afford to be so divided. Your fright and $2,98 cash, buys a good loaf of bread.

The previous comments are being saturated all across OUR country. Here in Arizona, the Republican/Conservative fortress, is determined to demostrate their demeanor, coming off 8 years of being controlled, by a warlord. In the minds of the beholders, change is no where to be found. I for see our military come home from their duty, to a divided country. That is not OK !

To all the naysayers I say:
We can't keep killing! Military being killed ! Civilians being killed!
TO STOP THE KILLING!
We must make it perfectly clear, that the ground in not for buriel only. It is needed to cultivate.
If people can't register this, than their choices in living amounts to less that a full six-pack.
I have 17 more years to live by my goal standards, when I will be 100 years old.
I may not get thier! But I remember the coffins taken off a ship all night, right after the WW11 was over, at the Port of Embarkation in brooklyn, N.Y. I was stationed at the port for a short time, which to was my home town. We were not allowed to look out of a window. Losing some one in the military is not easy. Family members ask why?

In the Jewish Religion, every Friday night we morn for the rest of our lives family members we lost. A father, mother, a child, a grandmother, grandfather.
As a symbol of our loss, at the funeral, A piece of a tie, is cut is cut off from a husband, father, or eldest son.
Due to the cost of fabric in today's economy. a bit of ribbon, is pinned on now to our coat to show of their loss.
We indeed have lost this day. I see the face of a giant leader that will never fade or dimish his out reaching to all Americans. It is time to say goodbye.

From Arizona, my wife Jo Ann and I Norman, want to extend our condolences.
We just want to say we care.
We cannot say enough, how one's life effects all that have been touched by Edward Kennedy. If he touched you, He loved you, as he loved his country.
"Senator Edward Kennedy gave his last measure of devotion to his country."
His family have weathered the storms, and found the "Port of Freedom." Hyannisport. Cape Cod has and always will be a special place, where our special country has thrived on special leadership, beautiful and great meaning in all the art forms, and caring. Let us in our lives continue to strive for peace, what meant so much to Edward Kennedy, and the Kennedy family. He will now find peace next to his brothers and family members, that stood up against the ravages of time.
08/28/09 @ 2:55 am
To Monposett:
I am completly disappointed in your efforts to call attention to a grave frightening moment in our Senator Kennedy's past.To be so insensitive to a crisis, that could have happened to anyone. I have been in some life threatening moments in my life. In a heart beat our lives can change forever.
I have addressed blogs to gun owners, for an example. who feel that gun rights are going to be taken away from them. That is not going to happen. Guns are a killing tool. Each day a child takes a gun to school. They think that it is cool. Why? How did they get the gun?
A father took his young son hunting on a very cold day. They got seperated. The father found his son frozen to death in the woods. This is a true story. The father put a bullet into his head. Their were two less people for dinner that night! If the mother did chose to eat at all. People today are living with the death of their children, while they were talking on a cellphone. Their children drowned in their pool. An everyday occurrence here in hot Arizona. Forgiveness needs to be applied.
08/28/09 @ 2:15 am
I am reading a letter I received From Senator Edward Kennedy, dated September, 3, 1996. I wrote giving him my support. His words are as relevant, and dedicated, this day of sorrow as was then.
" I am able to keep abreast of the insights and concerns of my constituency. Only by keeping informed can I continue to be an effective and
responsible Senator."
Never was Senator Edward Kennedy by any figure of imagination, a lay back Representative in the comfort zone of Congress.
For all those that to this day will limit our loss, and their sympathy, for losing an astonishing leader. I say to you from my heart.
" SENATOR EDWARD KENNEDY GAVE HIS LAST MEASURE OF DEVOTION TO HIS COUNTRY!"

Writing from Arizona does not spark, support for a Republican Governor. The record shown by our Republican Governor in office, Jan Brewer is not one to mentor.
I see your Governor as a learned and growing young man that will develop if given a chance to remain in office. It takes time to create support and mature.
The entire Republican party has nothing to offer these days. We are very Divided. Reams of paper of complaints and protests.Controlled and irritating remarks. Little or no contributions toward the welfare of Cape cod or any locale in this country. Just more of the same from their platform. Failing to acknowledge that they followed an ideology that will take 30 years to erase. Republicans have inherited a base of constituents, that breath division, hate, guns, dislike for supporting anything our President is doing, wants to do or will ever do for our people across our country.
As a manager, I would say, "Don't tell me what we need to do!. Tell me what you have done today.! That is one less problem to deal with. Today's business is today" We have a country to run.

To Mary:
Thank you for all the nice words. I worked at our local hospital 6 years as a courtesy cart driver. It changed my life. I found out at 76 yrs. I could teach. High School and middle school. I taught Good choices, self-worth and hope as a motivation speaker.
I had an encounter when I was in business A police officer said to me."Norman! Do you see that restaurant . When I come out of that restaurant, I want your Brake light on your truck fixed!".He had gone for coffee. When he got out, I asked his name and shook his hand.
Their always is a right way and a wrong way to handle a person.
I was on a committee in Illinois to promote to get kids to avoid drugs. One day all the surrounding townships set up a display to encourage anyone that drugs are a killer. I went to each police display to introduce myself. All the officers were rubber stamped. Not one of them showed any more compassion. That is how the training goes. It is time for change. With all the new technology, Police officers have to meet the challenges. Their lives depends on their new skills.
Thank you Mary.

WE now have mentally challenged people on our streets.

I have had enough encounters with Police in Illinois as a common carrier delivery truck service.
All Crowley had to do is not play hard ball. He could explain why he was their, someone reported their was a problem, and he just came by to see if he could be of some help.He could of befriended Prof. Gates.

Racism is not dead yet! Here in Arizona in many towns it has gotten better. it has their by many inter marriages, has brought about mixed families. And the children are absolutely beautiful.
The white folks who come from the deep south still hold to them the difference
between black and white, and now create hatred of people from south of the border. Big time.
Working at our hospital, A women came up to me and said " Thank you for the ride on your courtesy golf cart, but I saw you hugging a black lady !"
Why bother to explain. That women,to me was very special. She had a bad heart, and diabetes. A big women who would take her neighbors to the hospital in her car for treatment. She loved doing it. I loved her for it.
Small minded people will make themselves look good. Their is a thing I write. "If all the money we spent on the wars, could have gone to buy Mexico out right and make it our 51st State we would have thinned out our Problems across the board. Such smallness in vision.

To Peter" Arizona is hot.The temp.is 111 to 116. I don't mind it anymore.I can't shovel snow anymore. Lived in Chicagoland for 39 years. I would love to live on the Cape. It has a lot of memories for me. All the pictures in my house are ones that I took 1953 at the Cape.
We have a town that is a prototype of what people are all about.
I do notary public work. I have people from all cultures come to my door How can I not support them?
Imagine an 82 year old from Brooklyn Hugging a Native American, or a beautiful lady with Spanish eyes? My wife does not care.
The immigration problem would not be a problem as large, had we opened the doors to Ellis Island and build sub stations along the border. Walls won't do it. Log in workers, people who want to be citizens, TB testing Criminal checking. Take the crime out of the problem. Idle people are against anyone and anything. Complaining brings no good. Small minds !

This blog has tried to include all issues under one umbrella.
San Francisco has always been 10 years ahead of our times. New York in short is right behind. I was in NY 2008. Brooklyn now looks like a city between Singapore and Moscow. Their are so many different people from across the world. An 8M International City.
Having Obama as President represents change. Where I live in Arizona, Change is not welcomed. Guns are welcomed. Republican's are welcomed. Mostly from the Midwest. Fear is present amongst Conservatives.Socialism they call it today.Calling Obama weak.
Their by what ever Obama strives for, is regarded in distaste. The complaints and anxiety to see President Obama fail, is their vision.
Since Barack Obama has been elected, it is like buying a new house, where as your check book is always open to get what you need to get, before you can settle down, relax, find your way to see the efforts of your labours. Trust is not to be had at this time. Remorse for the past eight years of leadership is not to be had. 30 years hence we will see come to pass, ending G.W.B. mistakes.

I am glad President Barack Obama has chosen Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vinyard, to vacation with his family.
All the naysayers about our President are showing their true colors. Falling over by themselves.
This time for all time our divided nation can and will chose fresh attitudes and be hopeful that we have a leader, not a controller.
My wife and I about 10 years ago we walked from the ferry to Oak Bluff. So peaceful and full of history.
The walk did us a lot of good.

In response to: How to get the GOP back to core principles...
To continue to use the GOP past as a base to move forward is old hat. The GOP lives on it's past theories. Nothing new! No change! Because change is not in the game plan. Conservatives avoid change like a plague.
Start off with, Not to use,"What we need to do!" Tell us Americans what you have done today for the common welfare?
Our country cannot be divided as it is today. Politics is a game. We can't afford games.
Americans are all aware of what the problems are. So many people with so many problems, and only a few solutions.
The GOAL of the GOP is to offer trusted solutions. Power, and riches are the GOP theme, while our country is completly infected with disease, credit loss of employment,a divided Congress that seeks power on every known issue.Negative, finger pointing, self interest, fear, guns insatiability in our country is not the way to sway Americans to be thinking that only the GOP can run this country.
Top of it all, they must confess that they have followed a leader that was a controller. Once that is accomplished, then the GOP will be forgiven for being followers.

To see a mother keep her 12 year old locked up at home, because she was to embarressed to allow her daughter out.
I taught a class to teach young high school girls to make good choses. Much more prevention should be promoted Either they finish their education or have to deal with diapers? Open discussions and to take the incident as a mistake.

Women must take better caution who to bed with, and not to make them selves regret.

In response to: Confession Of A Stolen Handgun
Today !5-15-09 A massive Gun convention is in progress in Phoenix, AZ.
A gun is a killing tool!Their are needs for a gun, just like a shovel. The glory of a gun is in the minds of the beholder. The gun has consequences.
A man took his son hunting in the cold woods. They became seperated. the father found his son frozen to death, He put a bullet into his head right then. We have drive-by shoots every day here,in Phoenix. I mentored 11 and 12 year old students. They all knew where their fathers and the mother's boyfriends kept their guns. They thought it was Cool. The gun owners have the right to own a gun.
The issue is not just responsibility of safe handling, and good shooting. It is the fear and utimate tragic experience of having a gun. Better or for worse.
A gun is an impulse tool. If you got it ! Your going to use it! Before reasoning! Reaching for the gun.
Before walking away from the intense problem at that moment in time. True !you can get shot.Or bankrupcy.
A ten year old boy was constantly beaten for all he did. He shot his father and his companion. Life & death.

Here in Arizona, a Republican fortress has such a fixation that Our President B. Obama is going to lead the country into socialism. For the present we are fortunate enough to have a president that is going to force Congress to diminish there pork spending.
As of today Obama has the credit card companies on notice that their raising rates has got to stop. Using his office to have industry heads to come to the White House and shown cause. why Americans are under financial pressure?
He has and is sending out money so as to revive industry and retail business to restart making money to open up outlets to hire workers.
The GOP has, worse than socialism spent their authority on Fear and division for our country. WE can cement that in concrete. President Obama cannot for one issue depend on Republican support. The "Four horsemen",(McDonnell, Liberman, McCain, and Kyle) will never support our President. The blogs here are so bad in Arizona, that we are in a pressure state of quiet desperation. Had Bush had another year in office, we would had a pre-tried dictator.

I must as a motivation speaker here in Arizona, leave some direction that would help the future of the Republican party. I work very well with women. The Republicans and the Conservatives have made such a bad image of themselves, as to as many have turned from our president, Barack Obama.
We are divided. Politicaly. In many cases. I live in a manufactured home site.(83 homes) Most all are Republicans. I said to one man, "I am not Anti- social, I am a democrat!"
He said that is why you are Anti-social!
WE all have a duty to perserve the land we live on. the earth we were born and will die on. Nobody is better than anyone else. We don't have to agree with all issues. WE have to perserve our integrity. I don't understand, when ever we have a crises, Republicans are the first ones on their feet, and out the door to help.
In Arizona you would not believe it. They live in constant fear. The sales on guns has increased.Selfish and self-sentered is raging in the south west. The problem of immigration is so large here. Mexican immigrants need to stay.
We have a country to run. Help !
04/09/09 @ 10:40 pm
I say Bravo ! To Senator's Kerry and Kennedy to push hard to allocate funds to help people who are in dire need these days.
Here in Arizona, our diehard Conservatives will always say," It is unfortunate for people to be down on their luck!"
I am confused as why we are on earth? Is it to just bank the banks of Wall Street! Or live, raise a family and continue to do for others. We all have experience of one kind or another.
I gave 8 years of community service. After all these years I am proud of what I never thought I could and would do. I came away smelling like a rose.
People in some states are already living in tents. And the community heads give them 30 days to find other places to live. When A husband and wife both get fired, living in a tent is not an option. Good Luck on Cape Cod and Old Mass. Keep on Trucking !Better days are ahead. We are headed in the right direction. Wall Street is offering bonds to buy into. Inturn they will use that money to buy back or pay off out standing deficits. It proves to me that is the way to go. Forget taxes.

We have a great moment in history to advance beside finding solutions for today's down failings, We can grow with an entirely new outlook.
When the private sector cannot manage their business, the Government has to take up, where the country and the people are lost in hope and trust.
We will learn how to change. it will take 30 years for the Bush loyalists to heal and wane from their dedication.
We are making great strides. Understand, when you take over a business you have to come up with a certain amount of fresh money to turn that business around to make more than a marginal profit. That is what President Obama is doing. We will always have issues. The need to think big and go head to head with the people to understand what he is trying to do.
Their is no reason to slow things down to get the issues into a positive position. Then our President can take on the problems of today, with a more relaxed hand.
Considering the roadblocks he has to deal with, I say we will see a whole new ideology come to life.
Change will not come to people without vision. We must muster Congress.

Does anyone get the impression that a business in a community is their sole to create one or more millionairs?
I was in business. I never for one minute gave thought that my service was their to make me a millionaire, or people who worked for me a millionare !
In today's living it is more likely to stay in business for ever! To be able to take home some sort of a salary so one's spouse can shop at Wal Mart. Great ! If you shop at the high ticket stores, pay your mortgage,be able to send your kids to college. Also Pay your help a living wage.
I now believe we all have been Hood-Winked by Wall Street. It is all coming out. You invest your money. The earned income is just a tip. Like bush's stimulus package, which was no more than a #10 envelope. I have been known to give tips that small!
In the interim big Corporations are rewarding millions to millionairs.

capemom: I have had more encounters with police than I care to remember. I had a common carrier delivery business. I was able to sort out the few good police from the bad ones. A Police commander I knew, I asked him about his business. He said. I inherited some good officers, and some bad officers.
Having had to work in retail after the 1974/75 recession. I ran after thieves almost every day in Chicago.
I told a group of police coming out of a restaurant. "I am getting too old to run after thieves! All they said, Do you want to file a complaint?"
"Why bother!" I said
One time driving my truck, a policeman came over to me. "You see that restaurant across the street?" " When I come out I want your brake light that is out, fixed !"
I scooted across to a gas station and had it fixed. When the police officer came out. I asked his name, shook his hand and thanked him." That is what I respect. You have to earn respect.

I was on a police advisory committee. In Illinois. I recomended that before
cadets enter police academy they have 2 years of college. A course in social studies, to learn how to handle people.
My daughter had to go for 2 years in college before she entered a high profiled Nursing School. We need to elevate the self-worth and skills of police these days.
Here in Arizona they shoot 3 times and answer questions why they had to shoot a person three times? The answer was. "I thought he had a gun." The man was unarmed. He was reaching for his wallet. The Police department need to be trained same as troopers. Not just given a uniform, a badge, and a gun and told to go out and take care of the people. The mind set is far from reality.

To the Democratic members on Cape Cod.
once again I write in support of the political leaders on Cape Cod.
Here in Arizona we have so many conservatives and Republicans that have not healed from the past admiinistration. The level of discontent is far below the bar of intelligent and acceptence of our present President. Blaming and discredits and anything that continues to divided our country. We will never succeed if this shameful attitude continues.
As to the failing of Wall Street and AIG.
Picture anyone leaving their monies in a neighbors safe, so as to vacation at Palm Beachm Fla. Only to come home to find the Neighbor having paid off his house with that money,.
This is a crude example of what AIG did.

I have worked with much dilgence to create an awareness here in Arizona. I firmly suggest for all citizens across country to encourge the Governor to issue State Bonds and work toward buying Federal bonds( at going rate) With 3% to 7% earned interest. 5 years to 10 years. I checked the Arizona Republican paper, business section. The rates are steady. In stead of nightmares of taxes being raised. Bank loans !Invest in your own state and Federal bonds. Thousands are investing in foreign securities for an extra dollar or two. We must discourage taxes? We are taxed to the hilt. New paths to walk, Fresh ways to handle dark and challenging issues today. It can work if we would give it a chance. Instead of schools borrow money. Citizens will support education with our own money investments.
Japan and China have bought so many Treasure bonds. They can call up there notes at anytime because of Wall Street.
Their is no other idea or method other than raise taxes. To this day, who has money now to pay today's taxes?
Lend an ear and give support. No more taxes. A new direction.

As to the question of How I see Pres. B. Obama? I must say it is a fresh course we are on. A good wind ahead.
Here in Arizona, we are witness to how the last administration is working very hard to implement the same ideology into this new administration. Only this time it is not going to work. Only today The President wanted to put another Republican into his cabinet, for Sec.of commerce. The Republican guard got to him, with pressure he resigned the position.Proving the GOP has little or no intention to comply to following our new President,if the Republican's logo is not all over the issues. Which means we stand divided.
My vision to put 2 million people to work will expand to 4 million. I suggested the WPA long before the President's campaign got under way. His way is good, if not better.
The dominos will stand up in the game, instead of being knocked down.
We can build with a positive outlook to put people to work. A pay check is needed each and every day. Tax cuts are not forceful enough to make a difference. You can't take that to the food stores. Hope and good choices!

Here in Arizona, guns and car chases are a religion.I feel officers are turned out on to the streets, after going through a cookie cutter training.
Having been on a citizen's advisory committee, recommending officers have two years of college before entering the Police academy. Majoring in Social Sciences.Learning to deal with people.I have experienced officers in Illinois with high echelon training like State Troopers.
With meager training, even a veteran, given a badge and a uniform not good enough.
An officer with a rifle locked in their patrol car trunk, does them no good to react. They should carry a light carbine, like we had in WW11.
In this time of untold unrest, an officer is vulnerable like never before.
People today will stop at nothing to do what they want to do, when they want to do it.The right type of Police training is akin to safety of their lives.
A police stop assumes, the driver is a suspect.Being polite is gone. Better be correct and an elert call. The Police officer, executing,a moving

Peace can be experienced by being able to hear the "Sound of Peace." Totally believe in and perceive peace.
All the boaters, fisherman and people on shore on Cape Cod, have numerous
ways, moments, and places to hear it. It is their if you seek it out.

The last time I was in Harwichport. I was surrounded by it.
I noticed how people troubled, having a bad day, drove to a beach area, facing out to Nantucket sound, Sitting in their autos, searching for the sound of peace.Definitely sad and lonely, People today need to find it. Pointing them in a fresh direction to deal with stress. Not every one can handle stress. The people in our country can handle stress I really believe this.
If any of us can think big. We can over come the pain. If we can continue to think small, narrow and loud. Peace is nowhere within the sound of our own fears and ones own voice. Don't live in fear. We have had a leader that hung a cloud of fear over us for 8 years. We are not better off from the past frightful days. Peace and hope. It is our time !God Speed President BARACK OBAMA. This commentary is sincere Republican party deals in Theory foremost. Then power, Then money.
Coming from Arizona which is a Republican fortress. I can't understand we have people who live under the poverty level like peasants and continue to vote Republican.
As to the theory that we need smaller government and fiscal security, let me break this down. Our country pushing to under 400 million people. How much does it cost to cover that many people? How much money does Washington need a year to run this government? How much money do we have in cash flow with out borrowing money?
Now to be a little silly, we can't run our country from the back of a Post Office ! Constantly hearing we need a smaller government.
True! We can't keep writing checks to support studies for creating better catfish to the tune of $50,000 dollars as Alabama put in a request for.

So! Is Cape Cod in favor of Caroline Kennedy becoming a New York Senator?
I find it more than just appealing. I feel she can bring quality, contributions,For her charm, knowledgeable background.Due to the fact her family groomed her, As a patriot to serve our country. She can reverse the "Honky Tonk" atmosphere that found it's way into the Chambers of Congress, from the White House. She can carry the elegance she inherited from her mother, Jackie Onassis. As a dedicated women by all means. What she does need to know, she will have enough supporters from the White House down to enhance her way. The governor of New York is some one to reckon with. A strong leader.
Caroline Kennedy could portray as well as Eleanor Roosevelt. She has that fire in the belly. A fine lady. more than a famous patriot personality. She will be outstanding.
What discourse is labeled against the Kennedy family does not apply to her. Our country by far should give credit where credit is due.She will bring more publicity and fame to Cape Cod !

It seems the only hope for peace in our life time can only come from the beauty of such grandiose themes of inspiration. At a wonderful time of year that is so relevant and inspirational. For want of peace. Music and artistic culture, and expression are the truest motivation for peace.
While the world burns, added assistance from world sports. People helping people. The willingness to recognize that the earth is also for cultivating, not just to bury.
One night walking away after class from Julliard,at their original location at Christmas time amongst the cold lonely exterior of residential buildings.A cathedral was nestled in between the towers.Christmas music was being practiced for the upcoming celebration. It was sad and alone. It was hard to walk away from the beautiful themes.
We now are forced to live with such chaos, and what goes with it. The sound of silence, and the sound of music, is the true meaning, to the sound of peace.
We don't know as a people what we can have until peace bits us very hard from an unknown creature,to make us realize what peace is. Amen.

WE can once again bring some resemblance of Prestige to Congress by electing Caroline Kennedy. What ever came before, she is not responsible for. Her father and her uncle gave their lives for our country. That must be noted. She can bring the quality and grace her mother brought to the White House. Now she can extend that same sophistication to the halls of Congress. Along side of House speaker Nancy Pelosi who I am in love with. She is the only women that was able to go over bush's head and stand up to him. A special lady Not forgetting Hillary Clinton, and President elect Barack Obama. We will have a winning team. Our president to be has chosen a highly intelligent team. It can't fail. having eleminated some professional seat warmers in Congress.
We have had a run with people in Congress that got away with heaven only knows. She has been groomed by her family, living in the midst of leadership. I feel the country owes the kennedy dynasty. By now everyone must of read about an 8 year old in St. Johns, Arizona. The shooting of the boy's father and a companion of his father. It still isn't positive. More likely assuming that the boy did it Arizona is much disturbed by this horrible incident.
Here in the not too wild, wild, west, guns are a big thing. I like the mentioning that says minors should not have had use of a weapon.
I don't think a ruling here in Arizona exists.
I mentored 11 and 12 year old kids in our middle school. They all knew where their fathers, and Mother's live in boy friends, kept their guns. They thought it was cool ! For a minor to even given or have access to a loaded gun should be a crime against a father. In ST. John AZ. the boy kept an account of how many times he was beaten by the father. An abusive child will retaliate in some way or another.Expecting a minor to be capable of handling a killing tool, is outrages !

Students have to believe in "Dressing for Success." in school. The parents both working. In cases, The mother's boyfriend, or father's girlfriend living at home. Bad influence !
Mother says,"Eat your breakfast and go to school." The boy or girl dresses as He or she pleases. The kids get to school, lacking sleep, no breakfast, lacking energy to learn. Besides that, Kids go to school with far more baggage, then their backpacks. Their is no parenting, when in fact many are coming from a dysfunctional home The students have everything to not sleep on their desks. Their is a need To stimulate and paint a picture, create play acting in order to keep their attention. Getting them involved. Giving high praise, like treating a puppy. Not to keep pulling them down, creating depression. Making students feel they are on the road to success. How important it is for them to look to being achivers, with pride. We can't continue to support companies that leave labor bare in our country, where as we have now close to 10.2 million people in our country unemployed. WE can't tell the corporations how to invest their money. This requires some form of regulation on import and export business. Back in 1950. We also had a task force from the treasury department that fanned out on Wall Street to see if all taxes due the IRS. were sent in and taken care of.
Wall Street did not at all like this control. Even this day Wall Street feels that controls will hamper the course of doing business. I can verify that. I worked in the Wall Street area, 1950 thru 1953.
We can readily see now how Wall Street has taken advantage. Now Calling on Goverment to help them.
Can our business community continue as such, while labor suffers?

The amount of frustration and the form it comes in.
In Arizona the blogs in favor of no change, was enormous. People were so bitter, even with a high amount of education, mattered the least from the writers. Expecting what you can expect from the uneducated. I stood up reading all the hate and prejudice, ignorance. Change was the crime! Change was the roadblock! Inflexible words.
President elect, B.O. wants to bring our country to be "Lucrative!" Not to share the wealth as "Joe the plumber
enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame. WE can lift the bar for people who have nothing. Republicans use the word, "Unfortunate, I have mine, Your on your own." For saving face. many dollars are donated at social affairs.
What I can't understand, Republicans are the first to come out and volunteer for all social and community drives and services. And yet, they see and vote for people they take at face value.
People saw McCain as they wanted to see him. Not as he saw himself. Not as he was.
How in all these years he did not see through George Bush. To enable him to win,he had to turn from G. Bush.

For the longest while I have been an advocate of people investing in State and Federal bonds. 3% to 7% earned interest, to offset taxes. We are taxed to the hilt. Thousands are investing in foreign securities, Receiving higher interest. All people should have an opportunity to invest in secured bonds, As it is, the people who have nothing. invest at the casino. Even their food table money In hopes of striking it rich.
Our Tax Structure has to change. An equal rate of taxes. With owning stocks or bonds people will learn how to care more for the value of money, we hope.
My father in law owned Utility bonds from New Mexico. With his social security check. He was able to do well.
Wall Street now we see is the problem.
I have researched this plan. I have not received any negative reports. I had two stocks issued at work. Also 401K. That was great. That was a reason to get to work every day.

POSSE: I write in Response to your blog. I don't have to go to the middle east to see the insanity that war does to nations. The peoples of the world. I was in the Army in Europe at the end of the war.WWII.
As for our leadership, G. Bush was never a peacemaker. He is in fact a Warlord. J. McCain is a warrior.
Great Britain wrote the books on war. A professional warring Nation. The people in the middle east, trapped in poverty, live to fight and die They have nothing else to live for. We are born to live. It is our leadership that commands us to go to war.
According to this administration,we have to continue to kill! military being killed, civilians being killed ! to end the killing.
WE have portrayed ourselves as Britain as a warring nation.Sell Rice! Wheat and Corn! for peace. Our leadership continuing to support war over peace.
Opposing to talk to our enemies, John Kennedy said. "If mankind does not end war. War will end mankind." We can for see war and destruction. For so many years now, we no longer appear as the ambassador of peace.

To Paul Rifkin: A video, a thing of beauty. Bravo. I am many miles away. My heart is with Cape Cod. I stand for peace, HOW CAN WE HAVE PEACE IN THE WORLD IF THEIR IS NO PEACE IN THE LAND OF PEACE? AMERICA. As a four year old little girl said, on " talent show, when asked where she is from." Are you from New York?" She answered "I am from America"!
Here in Arizona, we have so many extremists, hard core Republicans, G. Bush followers, Conservatives. people afraid of change. They openly admit they want no part of change.
They don't know the sound of peace. We are surrounded by desert and the high country where peace is all around us. They don't hear the sound of silence. They don't want to accept. They see only what they want to see. They listen to only what they want to listen to. People in defiance can not hear the sound of peace. Nor believe in peace.
They turn towards guns, out of their own fears they themselves created. Peace is the same as the meaning of life. That is love.

The Perrino family looks every bit like winners. I wish them well.
Even W. F. Buckley's son is voting for B. Obama. Christopher feels the Republican party has lost it's way.
In all this time! In 7 1/2 years how is it that no one was able to see through our administrator and the administration? I am older than John McCain. I can see what he is already missing. He is running uphill. He is not too well, I may add. McCain represents the old. B. Obama represents our future. Sen. Joe biden. A steady down to earth man at the wheel.

From where I sit in Arizona their are so many people bitter about this campaign. Sarah Palin is all window dressing. She maintains her full support for the Bush Doctrine, and Dick Cheney. The people here see Palin as they want to see her, also J.McCain.
Her attitude is false. A thin devious inner personality that draws people to her like bees. She is believable. She does not know the answers. An Attractive lady people wanted for the Oval office.
She fakes it! They do not want to see through her. A great salesman. She sells herself well.
I am older than John McCain. His medical records are out.At 81 I am in better health than he is.
Joe Biden, a very down to earth leader.
He too has a health problem. Had Aneurysms ! He is fine now.
That is like a time bomb in one's body.
Sarah Palin does not even know what the Supreme Court has or is working on

A Marine from here in Arizona, having served 5 tours of duty. Unable to cope with civilian life re-enlisted to serve the additional two tours of duty. Finally came home to stay. His family life was completely shattered. Suffered from Post Traumatic syndrome. Drove up to the Grand Canyon. Turned away, raced out until he hit a tree. The police were on his tail. Our Marine put a bullet into his brother's head sitting next to him. got out and waved a gun at the Police and they shot him.
He should not have been allowed to return home. $200,000 dollars or more, that G. bush requires to build a library, should instead be used to build a country club resort for returning Veterans to find peace in themselves. A plane right from the killing fields to civilian living life is far to little time needed to regain control of their lives. So many suicides coming out of Iraq and Afganistan, also desertion. Our military are not expendable.

My view is I am not in favor of this bail out. We have to be very cautious. The Wall Street insecurity might warrant China to call in their notes to be paid. That appears to be the most crucial financial worry. Let AIG call on other countries to carry their load. We can't live on Plastic credit any more. AIG made plenty of money from their interest received. It is pay back time to the America People.

I told fathers that they need to spend more time with their sons and daughters. Even if you go for gas for your car. Tell then to shut the TV off and take then with you. Spend time with them at the library. Help them to understand the importance to read. A 17 year old in high school could not read with out stopping. Parents need the time to teach children trust and giving them confidence,choices,self-worth.
Aside from the mother's job to teach their siblings what they need to know, the father has to set direction for them. Drinking beer and watching football all the time does not do it.

To commercialize Cape Cod is not what the Cape is all about. For those that are losing business have to reorganize their business. Like bars.Putting up free lunch counters, will bring customers in. No smoking ! Have College Inn residents. Some old fashioned general stores with a country stove atmosphere for the winter months. WE have here in Mesa, Arizona,a flea market, that brings in 55,000 snow birds a year. May be less now with gas problems. It does not dampen business. and our winters are shorter. Our heat is longer. Once again big talk, but no CHANGE!! Conservatives have injured our country by voting for G. Bush. We had two highly intelligent candidates, Al Gore and John Kerry and they chose Bush.
As to the question of Republicans analysis of Democrats. They do not have an argument at all. They voted twice for a man that did not govern this country, but ruled it. I lived with depression for so many years. Did not know at all I was every depressed. I had to do jury duty! Could not do it. I was a mess. Did not know at all until age 59. Find a mentor. Some one person you can relate to. Keep busy! Like build a house. No matter how long it takes. Keep your thinking on doing. I had an young man work for me. Ended up taking up photography. Having been around bars for years, working as a musician. Being down and out, I promised myself If I let myself go I would throw in the towel. If I took to drinking seriously !I use to watch the bar tenders as to what they were drinking. That was what I stuck with. It was ginger ale, coffee or tea. I had at times had to drive other musicians home at three in the morning.
I worked with a manager in one of my career changes. He taught me to watch him at a party. He held the same drink all night. People though he was a heavy drinker. One drink! If for a second he put his glass down and saw someone putting something into his glass. He did not make a stink! He just took a fresh glass. Everyone thought he was the life of the party. He said, the time NOT to drink is at a party. Crazy !! Not really! You can watch others make fools of themselves. People drink much because it is their.
I had a friend 29 years old. He was hooked. When we went with him to a get together, he would drink out of a regular coffee cup all the time. One night went home to sleep! Did not get up. Alcohol poisoning.

I did 9 Fridays and 5 classes per Friday for our local high school, and a year and a half at our middle school, as a motivation speaker,(volunteer) The main discourse is due to ideological discipline in school districts. Middle management brandishing the golden ruler. Great school teachers and administrators leave due to school politics. Teachers burdened down with making entries in their computers, on there own time to catch up with procedures that cuts there teaching time and stress galore.
It is every one's fault! The government short changes support! The Administrators afraid of losing their jobs. Students are losing out. They come from homes that are dysfunctional. They come to school with baggage other than their back packs. Many don't eat breakfast. Not enough sleep.
