In response to: Wind Farms nearby may actually increase home prices
And if Williams did read Hoen's paper she would discover that out of 280 properties included in the sample, only 43 had any view of a turbine, and 38 of the 43 were over 3 miles away.
Can someone please tell Mr. Hoen and Mr. Wiser to go back and study statistics 101?

Ben Hoen's college term paper was a sham and it's been torn apart in New York state. The property in his sample was on average over 3 miles away from the closest tower. Not a single property in the sample was closer than a mile. (Ask anyone within a mile if property has been impacted from 500' wind turbines) He considered if you could see a "tip of a blade" that you had a equal view of the windfarm. He didn't put any value for viewshed in his model. He used sales prior to the windfarm which greatly watered down the sample. I could go on and on, but Hoen's paper didn't prove a thing other than how desperate the wind industry is on this issue. BTW - Hoen is 100% pro industrial wind, and ran a resturant before he decided as a student to become a industrial real estate expert. Wiser is 100% pro industrial wind.
It's unfortunate Williams didn't read Hoen's report in detail before blowing off such a irresponsible article.
