Can you not read or comprehend bvista? The cruiser was RAMMED by these scumbags!
"The other two men drove off at a high rate of speed in a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country van through the crowded parking lot smashing through a Yarmouth Police cruiser and traveling out on to Station Avenue northbound towards the Mid-Cape Highway."

The other incident earlier this Summer was caused another idiot driving under the influence of drugs and failed to stop at a stop sign hitting the cruiser! Get your facts straight before you start bashing the Police!

Are you the same person that's posting this over at craigslist? I worked the scene wishinguwell. Local company, name not worth mentioning, if you were there then you know the name as the truck and trailer were the last towed. There were no fatalities, we use blankets and sheets to protect people when using extrication equipment.
09/18/09 @ 4:55 pm
First does it matter what landscaping it was? They were NOT at fault. Second the only sheet people saw was the blankets the firefighters were using to protect the injured people in the car while they were using the jaws, capice ?

Good morning capecodchica, I take it you are a Yarmouth resident. I am not sure if have been following the news recently since Sept. of '08. YPD is down 6 Officers since the override lost last Summer and faces to layoff 2 Officers, for a total of 8, if the override that passed Monday night at the annual Town Meeting, doesn't pass next Tuesday the 12th at the polls.

Your comment about checking pawn shops in wrong, I personally know for a fact they do, as I had jewerly stolen as was found a pawn shop thanks to YPD and Barnstable PD. If you do not think they are working hard, then you contradicted yourself posting here as the previous blog showed their weekly Activity the previous week with callls and arrests.

Anybody think it could have been a medical condition that caused it or are you 2 just inclined to think bald tires, cell phone, texting, caused it?

The injuries WERE life threatening by the way!
02/23/09 @ 6:40 pm
Wishingwell, I read your posts over at the Times and today I noticed that you spoke well of the FF in Harwich who has cancer. Then you come here and complain about Ladder trucks on why and heights of buildings not having a clue why they have them. Then you spout off on salaries, what gives?
02/07/09 @ 9:57 am
Well Al, it's good to know you got your facts straight, because obviously YOU know more than the UNION and Mr. Lawton. Great idea to leave the stations unmanned while calls are going on! I blame Carol Woodb ury for the the current mess as well!
02/06/09 @ 5:22 pm
So Alby, YOU are saying the greedy UNION is responsible for the town's fiscal crisis?
02/06/09 @ 3:53 pm
anluke, I am not quite sure were you are going "call backs at the Fire Dept."
After the 3rd Override attempt, Schools got $1.5 Million, that caused the town to CLOSE the brand new fire station in West Yarmouth. There are NOT call backs everytime the Ambulance goes out despite what the Madam Chairwoman and Dr. Marasco say. This depends on their shift manning. Also the VOTERS passed that the 3 stations be covered ALL the time. The FIRE UNION presented to the board a concession to NOT cover Sta.3 when the AMBULANCE went out.

01/29/09 @ 12:47 pm
Headline is wrong, The COMM FD responded to this fire. Cotuit FD assisted at the scene then covered COMM's Sta. 3

Albert, again talking out of your....!
Let's see where to start - You say;"WE keep the ambulance $.IF you attended the Spring town meeting Randy EXPLAINED the Ambulance receipts. The FD has NOT been in captial budget for over 10years thanks the Ambulance. It does help pay some salaries, building maint. for the 3 stations, and yes the ladder truck. Let me educate you on the ladder. The prior Chief Dennis Brown was a big proponant for a new aerial truck for the FD. He wanted to purchase a truck with a bucket called a tower. He stated the reasons behind the purchase, such as the FD traded in the old ladder truck and a fire engine to offset the price. The Tower Truck is actually 2 trucks in 1. They call it a quint. IT is a fire engine, carries water, hose, has a pump, aerial device, etc.
This apparatus also helps the toen's ISO rating which in turns bedefits you the homweowner in your homeowners inurance rate.
You seem like a very angry man and for that I am sorry. Maybe IF you went and talked with the guys and Paul ( still don't believe you have) then maybe you would change.
12/18/08 @ 7:58 pm
Why is that people feel to write erroneous posts? Barnstable PD has NOT closed ALL businesses after midnight. The town has ordered Christy's and any other business such as 24hr gas stations, convience stores to close from 0100-0300.
12/18/08 @ 6:37 pm
YADA, YADA, GuardianAngel8! You are a broken record and are in a very sad state of affairs girl! Stick to your Somerville business not the business of what happens here on the Cape.

Princealbert is right, Randy is still there, he has given NUMEROUS dates on his pending retirement, but is still on the job. Why is the town paying for 2 Fire Chiefs? I agree Kelleher may have had a better shot at becoming the Chief, if Randy retired when he said he was going to!

Word has is the FINCOM is not to happy about the proposes money to be spent. Seems that they may have been mislead by the board that the schedule NEEDS to change.
The talks of Private Ambulance has been going on for decades and it is proven that Fire Based EMS provides the most reliable and effficient serivice, so good luck with your venture.

So let me get this right, JUST because it is in the contract in regards to the schedule, makes it right to do in these tough fiscal times? I mean Lawton has been quoted saying there is only $10,00 free cash. The Selectmen voted to keep the 3 libraries open by re-adjusting money, WHAT MONEY? It is not so much the change of the schedule Tom, where does the $17,000-$20,000 come from? I tell why they are doing it, SPITE, nothing else period! They have no reason outside of they can, find, but in these times of fiscal crisis? I can cal say there have other possible solutions to Sta.3 that falls on deaf ears.

Find a Private Ambulance Co. that is willing ot set up shop and get back to me.

So, you are a friend of Randy and that's find, I do NOT believe you have spoken with Mr. Holmquist and if you did you are narrow minded. You basing your comments on your opinion and not fact.

Albert writes:"RFP for ambulance service save the town some $$ and lay off most of these greedy union members! "

Here's a job for you Albert, try finding a PRIVATE Ambulance Co. to set up shoop for single town based EMS! Those companies are in for making a profit ONLY, and go see how much they will CHARGE Yarmouth to set up here and the town will lose that $$ they currently make now. Again, I ask Albert have YOU spoken to the Mr.Holmquist or any other Union Officer wiht your concerns?

You know RetiredVeteran(Blog name at Cape Cod Times)and Albert, you folks should really get some of your facts straight before running off here with your banter. In fact have either one of you attempted to speak to the Mr.Homquist personally or do you two just take what this one says or that one says? Do you take what's printed in news stories as gospel? I don't se you two poating anything about how the SELECTMEN want to psend your dollars to change the schedule, because they can.

Where on 28 is this such Police Station? The last I knew I saw and visited a new Station being built on Sisson Rd. You say waste? Well that bond was passed ahile ago, old news. Also as a point of information, the PD and FD are combining dispatch essentially connecting the old PD to the esxisting PD to better serve Harwich.

teacher x, If in fact your a teacher, you are a blatent liar and should be held accountable for your actions. Why would the fire dept. lie about the response times? The Lt.'s statement can be backed up by the recorded tranmissions and the intial receipt of the alarm. I also have a concern aobut the inappropiate actions of one the teachers who on their decision against policy to NOT have his/her students evacuate. Also why didn't school notify the Fire Dept. about what was going on after the fire alarm was sounded? Don't try to say they did either.
08/12/08 @ 7:23 pm
Hey possee, I feel there is a time for "humor" absolutely! However, given the events that has happened in Yarmouth regarding the PD, emotions are still up and maybe, just maybe acting like an adult for awhile will stop the negative and in my opinion immature posts.
