In response to: MA State Trooper injured in Route 28 crash in Bourne
sandyneck, firsthand I constantly see the state police blow by me doing almost double the speed limit in horrible driving conditions. Second, 90 percent of the time I see a State cop on the road, he is also on the phone. Do you really believe with the lack of details given that this was an innocent accident, or are you a police officer? Come on, get real.

Actually I don't use my cell phone while speeding in the rain.

I am sure he or she was going the speed limit and not talking on his cell phone. No state policeman would ever do that.

How about the town of Yarmouth cuts some unneeded expenses instead of raising taxes? So many businesses are struggling and this isn't going to help. Other than that, I am with possee.

It's always entertaining when you see a violent punk's obituary or an interview with their friends when the punk dies. Usually it goes something like this: 'He was a great guy who was getting his life back on track. He loved playing with his little nephew and throwing the football with his little brother. He had recently decided to go back to school and was looking forward to taking classes in the fall.'

This could happen to anyone? My ass!

It's ironic that on the main floor of the library there are thousands of books a person could apply to become more knowledgeable and informed.......

Private sector is trying to derive a profit from the labor force??!! The paper is LOSING money, not profiting! You believe the workers should profit but the owners should not? You are really a voice of reason!?

In response to: You are the government
CEO's make too much? How about politicians make too much? Barney Frank for example makes close to 200,000 a year in salary (never mind perks and pension); do you think he deserves this? You make it sound like it is so tough to raise taxes!? How about we have major reform on the salaries of politicians?

Matt compares the pay of CEO's vs average employees. How about we compare Ted Kennedy's salary to one of his aides?

Greed is a horrible thing, but it is no worse in the private sector than it is with our government!

More and more people are becoming fed up with greedy politicians. A couple hundred years ago people had enough and got behind the sons of liberty.

Enough already! I am gonna tell it like it is:

This building is sitting empty and will continue to do so if Christy's does not build on the lot. The building plans fit the Rt 6A image. Competition is a great thing, and benefits the consumers. If the locals don't like it, they will not shop there. Jobs (although minimal) will be created. Tax revenue for the town of Dennis will increase. The lot couldn't look any worse than it does now. Christy, please get this going so you can start focusing on running for Governor. Upon being elected Governor, change the Cape's name from Cape Cod to Cape Christy.

"No Name Calling Day"?? It's great to see Matt Patrick is working so diligently on important issues. I'd like to call him a useless waste of taxpayer's money, but I won't due to the subject being discussed.

It seems like Matt made February "How To Not Get Reelected Month".

In response to: Rep. Patrick's position on the gas tax
Matt, you must have had a little grin on your face as you were writing this. I don't want to reiterate other people's comments, so I will leave it at this- How many millions of the taxpayer's dollars go to civil servant's HUGE, UNDESERVED pensions? How many unneeded state employment positions could be chopped? Why don't you, the governor, and others who work under the golden dome look into this instead of depending on tax hikes?

I am on my way to print up some Boston Tea Party II T-shirts....or should I say Tea-shirts......

Enough intelligent people will eventually say enough is enough and the revolution will begin! Boston Tea Party Part II. I love how liberals get so mad at huge corporations for earning huge profits, but never seem to mind the government wasting their tax dollars. Does anyone realize just home much money Uncle Sam takes and wastes!!!!????

Viva la Revolucion!

Buzz, posting the pictures doesn't make these citizen's guilty, however it raises the public's awareness of what may be going on. If you see someone you know (perhaps a babysitter, a house keeper, school bus driver, etc), on this website, you can follow up with public records and find out if the person has been proven guilty and is a danger to you or anyone you know.....

Anyone who is against the YPD posting these photos needs to think this through a little better. To me, this is a modern version of the Scarlet Letter! The principle in posting the pics is relatively simple. People do not like being publicly humiliated; therefore, a criminal will feel the public scorn for the act or crime that they have committed. Ideally, they will more fully accept responsibility and will feel remorse. Also, public citizens who view these people may be deterred from committing the same crime.

Keep up the good work YPD

This group should put a softball team together for this summer; it would keep them out of trouble for at least a couple hours a week. Leo Senna batting clean up of course.

In response to: Press Conference on Yarmouth Shooting
We are all lucky to have a police officer working in our community like Officer Van Ness. If you ever read police blogs, you know this officer has taken more dirt bags off the streets than most other officers on cape. It all comes down to this; don't try to outrun/back your car into a police cruiser. Follow these simple rules and you won't get shot. Maybe this will be a lesson for the next guy who thinks about outrunning the police. Not many children walking or riding their bikes down the street have the awareness to dodge a vehicle moving at 90 mph.....

Sad situation all around
