In response to: NCL Cruises: Freestyle or Free-For-All?
Oh boy, what can I say except that I agree with the author 100%. We took our ONE & ONLY cruise on NCL, and will NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. Their problem is the all-American crew (read: UNION), people don't care about loosing their jobs, they are paid much better that international crews on other ship lines. Result- rude service, awful management. On our cruise to Hawaii they closed the buffet completely and would not allow even to get WATER - you had to wait in a longest line for any food, even coffee. Our hallway smelled like poop, managers were rude to us, when I approached one and told him that it is really inconvenient to stand in line forever to get food, he told us that it might get even worse. At the end they MADE US PAY TIPS. We've cruised with Royal Carribean & Carnival, and their tips were not manadatory, nut we tipped them in anyway, because they had a great service. WILL NEVER DO NCL AGAIN - there is so many more great cruiselines.
