In response to: Dennis the manatee died Sunday on his trip to Orlando
Comparing plus-sized women to a manatee - that's like comparing a plus-sized guy to a, I dunno....get back to you on that one...I guess since she's your X it's okay...
What's happening to manatees in FLorida is really awful. It's a wonder there is any of them left at all.

It seems like, since its an endangered species, maybe they could have acted more promptly. I dont know everything about them - oh, well. I ran into a kid on the bridge looking for the manatee on Saturday and she said sometimes nature can be cruel to animals. Sad, but true.

I am curious about the Manatee's condition before it left for FLorida and what the difference would have been if they decided to get it there via another mode of transport, quicker, maybe it would have survived, difficult to know now. I wish there was more we could have done.

In response to: Cape manatee headed for SeaWorld in Orlando
I saw Dennis yesterday afternoon. He was barely moving around. When I went back he had gone into the inlet. It seemed like he was turned into a tourist attraction with all the people and IFAW handing out pamphlets. They said they were waiting until Monday and I thought he'll die before then - it's too cold. (60 degrees F is the lowest temp they can tolerate). I am glad they got him outa there. I hope he makes the trip okay....Bye Dennis, good luck in your new home.
