If someone is being charged with passing counterfit bills their picture should be posted so that other businesses will know what they look like. Good job to the employee at Wendy's for noticing it was a counterfit & taking quick action.

How about going back to letting kids pick their own teams at gym instead...the gym teacher picks the teams because someone's feeling might get hurt. They don't have gym everyday, music, or sports in school anymore so most kids are not getting introduced to new hobbies. Kids are coddled too much these days & are not held accountable for their actions at a young age. It is what they are being taught. God will forgive.

I don't remember reading where it states it was the landscapers fault.
I know what I saw. It was a sheet covering a person, for whatever reason, and that is the facts. CAPICE!!!!!
09/18/09 @ 1:12 pm
I can confirm it!
There also was: What appeared to be a sheet covering something. That has not been confirmed either.

In response to: Harwich weekly arrests; One arrest in Truro

The judges do not hold these people accountable for their actions & that is why they repeatedly do stupid things.
If it's no big deal then maybe everybody should try doing it.

THAT HOUSE for $425,000. They are out of their mind unless it is waterfront. I could buy a 4 bedroom,2 1/2 bath, 3/4 acre Colonial for that!!! They need to come down ALOT more.

Yeah! Let's all trade our cars in for bikes. We can make the cape a bicycle only area. Nothing with a motor allowed. LOL

They should be required to submit a plan of how the money will be spent. That way they cannot pay themselves & all their friends that they employed. Lots of non profits are doing this scam. Plus they do not pay any property tax.
05/06/09 @ 6:52 am
Did I read that right? 29 Custodians? Does the schools warrant for that many custodian positions? No wonder the district is upside down. No more overrides. Should have downsized this mess a long time ago. Will the new company have 29 full time custodians working in the town of Yarmouth alone, as well?

I still do not understand why it needs to be out in the ocean when we have plenty of land available & it has already been proven to work on land.
04/24/09 @ 5:09 pm
Still would be better to place them up on one of the highest points on Cape Cod than out in the ocean.

The Kream N Kone is open...the Kream n Kone is open. That is the best place. I almost live in Sandwich but my husband & I drive down almost once a week in the summer. I find they r your best bet for quality, price, & quantity.

I say we elimate the bridge completely. That would solve the traffic problem in the summer.
People could take a boat & use public transportation,rent a car,bike,etc.

Good Point Capecodreality, they will go elsewhere & there will be no chance for recovery at all. Maybe that is what they r trying to do. Drive the druggies to Fall River to sell....in the end, that is where they will end up buying. No buyers on the Cape, no drug dealers. Of course the next issue will be taxing us on the money we make selling a coin collection or jewelry.

In response to: The siren song of oxycodone
It's too bad that those who really need it cannot get a prescription. While others get refill after refill. Giving someone a prescription is OK, it's the 5 refills for 60+ pills each that is getting people hooked. Use common sense Doctor's.
02/22/09 @ 7:30 am
I see the fire Dept. was busy earning their $100K a year. Busy setting up fire hoses & entertaining Doug Meehan. Washing the trucks so they look good. Why do we need that ladder truck again? We don't even have buildings that tall in Centerville...or most of Cape Cod. LOL

Another successful week for the YPD. Hurray & Good Job!
02/11/09 @ 6:49 am
GOOD JOB YPD! Keep up the good work. You are also raising more money for the state. If all the towns were doing this maybe they would not have to tax soda, candy, & more on gas.
02/11/09 @ 6:47 am
This is to protect us. How would you like it if one of these people applied for a job at your business or house? Would you want them working on your house. Yes! It does make people think twice b4 driving into Yarmouth. I wish all the towns would start posting the mug shots. Nothing could be more embarrassing.
02/10/09 @ 6:07 am
It looks like she is being scolded by the police. Maybe she wouldn't smile for the picture.
02/06/09 @ 7:56 pm
What makes them think they will get more money from the tax payer? If they don't have the money,THEN "they don't have the money." The towns r literally driving people off cape in droves. It is very sad.

In response to: Cape real estate sales, prices fall in January
Hey NED: If you were to listen to a real estate broker they will tell you NOW is the time to buy. A 4 bdrm, 2 bth closed recently in Hyannis for $60K. It is bringing the comps down everywhere. They will be cheaper than a car soon.

5K-8K is a lot of money. If a seller really wants to sell a house they better wake up & smell the roses. Reducing your price & being competive is key in this market. Sell now or get stuck with a house until the recession is over. That will not be any time soon either.

In response to: Blowing in the face of Wind
It will not benefit the people in the Community as they say. We will still be required to purchase this energy with no guarantee that it will be cheaper & more efficient. People should be able to put a wind turbine on their own property & generate their own power....for free. Let me see some of you try to put a wind farm on your property. It will be fought tooth & nail. If it is so great then, why can't an individual have their own. It is because the government would not make a cent off it. No one could bill you & tax you on the bill. It makes more sense for everyone to have their own, in their own backyard. Then there would be no issure on where to have them. Why do we need a company to post them in the waters when we could all have one erected on our own property. If you choose not to put one up, well it is America.

Good Luck to the Fitzgeralds. Shame on the school district for taking this so likely. I also bet the victims assailant will soon be listed in the court reports & will eventually land himself in jail. If he has these issues in elementary school & no one is addressing HIS issues, then this kid will later be the biggest victim.

Nanner:This is enough to keep me out of trouble B4 my pix appears in the paper. Why wait till it's too late? Also, most times these people are guilty. Just because the judges dismiss or find the person not responsible 90% of the time does not mean that they are not guilty.

I think it is less than 84% who want this. I still do not understand with all the millions spent:Why Cape Winds just does not buy some land high on a hill on Cape Cod & use that to build his farm? Why is it on public property? If it is EVERYBODY should agree to it,Period.
01/16/09 @ 7:24 am
Who knows how many he started with? He already made over $1,700.00. I know I do not want him peddling drugs to my kids. I am glad he is off the streets. Lets hope the judges can make a difference this time & give him the book instead of a slap on the wrist.

I want to know the follow up. I think she was in the court report & will have to go back to court. Is she free? or Will she be held until her court date? The bail should be much higher than 25K. With all the money she makes they should have set the bail much higher. Plus her connections off-cape. I bet she does not come back for her arraignment. It will be another waste of taxpayers dollars as they let her walk the streets getting more innocent people/kids addicted.

"NO"....to new taxes!! I say "NO" to Old taxes also. "No" to state, income, Federal, & property taxes. Let's not forget "NO" to excise tax & sales tax. Why pay more? We already get nothing in return so why give them more? Oh Yeah! So they can get their promised yearly pay raises.

In response to: Jordan Mendes laid to rest in Centerville
It's sad that the police are doing their jobs arresting these people/kids only to have them released by judges. The 20 year old had a record & if he was locked up or in rehab this would not have happened. The judges need to be held responsible when they release criminals. That way they will think twice B4 letting people back on the streets. Why can't we sue judge's when repeat offenders are let loose & commit more crime???

For the record: Robert Vacher went into the dealership days before looking at that BMW. Told them he would be back with the money in a few days. Sure enough he came back with cash. That to me sounds like PRE-MEDITATED MURDER & he needs to be put away forever. Maybe even in the same jail with Jordan's Dad. Wouldn't that be ironic? Would they do that? I hope so! Scare the pants of that 20 year old.

I do not know all the facts but my guess is the 13 year olds were not in on this. They did not have the money & are not old enough to drive, never mind buy a car. They were not even with the 20 year when he bought the car. I think they were at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong person. 13 year olds just don't think like that. Not to mention the one who could not sleep & turned himself in. He prob thought he would be killed next. My heart goes out to all the victims including the 13 year olds who are just too young to understand.

I read about how all the towns do not want to build any places in their area. Sandwich had a huge battle trying to keep out a nice resident building to house them in. It sounded like a great plan too. Anyone who did not comply would have been thrown out. Sandwich residents cried & it was never allowed it.
