I've been there many times. It's a very solemn and enlightening experience about how things have been in the past and in many cases, still are.

I believe the writer is saying that once the test is passed that administrators are wanting to concentrate their efforts and limited resources on those going to college and allowing a dumbing down of the curriculum for those going directly into the workforce, all in an effort to keep drop out rates down.
Personally I think it's high time that this time around in local budgets that the cost cuts should be in administration at schools. It seems that after they ruthlessly cut everything else their 4% hefty yearly raises are always in tact.

Going back to what this thread was originally about... Usually that's how this works. It's interesting how much we're hearing about the sad, continuing non-important story about this woman. How it's on so many peoples' lips. (The young woman at Cumby's was talking about it last night) So typical of the media bloodsucker sycophants, they'll bury this woman and dig her up 100 times. She's the ideal subject for exploitation of the Marilyn formula that has worked to sell lots of advertising without having to pay for the image endorsement. It's not branding, it's news!

It's time for the real majority, moderates, to hold this country's leaders accountable to the sovereign people. This polarized back biting back and forth is not only boring but exceptionally unproductive and definitely not by accident. Problems are not getting solved. No matter who seems to be in office things seem to continue to degenerate. The middle class is getting hoodwinked while their pockets get picked and men in suits talk trash and sensationalize bad manners that infect any real discussion.

PP - I'm talking about the idyllic times where people don't throw their constitutional rights out with the bathwater cause they're so scared. "War on Terror", even Orwell couldn't have thought that up and sold it as a concept in fiction. And it looks like it could go on for 100 years are more. The question is can you assist by permeating that terror on the homefront enough to keep continued support for an already unpopular war? Doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Yeah, sorry I missed those live feeds. The best reality TV is watching these so-called "journalists" speculating to the high heavens with their expertise in breaking news stories. I'll just agree to disagree. This will go nowhere obviously.
A threat? Yes. Contained. Threatening enough to risk inciting a global war on manufactured intelligence serving the corporate elite? No.
China will be the region to watch in the 21st century. The middle east conflict will pale in comparison. Who knows, China might consider repossesing the middle east after the west credit card payments' checks bounce.
A fine mess.

I'll bash Bush, no problem. Superstitious religious fanatic, pretend cowboy (courtesey of the bloodsucker pop culture/screwing machine) Rich boy/groomed puppet.
I mean for chrissakes, does someone really believe this was about bringing democracy to the middle east? Com'on, it's oil, duh. It is an unbelievable mess that these bozos in the administration created and no matter what happens a lot more people are going to be killed.
The US had the no-fly zone. The US had a strong presence in Saudi Arabia and the most sophisticated 1st strike machine in the world at its disposal. Containment was working. But the world-wide corporations wanted more.

Iraq is a shameful mess. We will not be safer from terrorists. The USA is now hated more than ever. Now the region is more unstable than it was before and whether the US stays or goes doesn't hide the fact that a lot more people are going to be killed regardless. It's just a question of who at this point.

As far as the liberal branding and such goin' on here - painting peoples' views with that broad brush either liberal or conservative has grown very tiresome... a broken record. Saying the same things over and over will not continue to work for the sovereign people. We need moderation and compromise from both sides. America needs to get out of this hapless gridlock of polarization. There's no progress. It's tiresome and boring. Politics in America today is about as interesting as a Power Point presentation on prime time TV.

In response to: Delahunt and Kennedy love Venezuela's Chavez
I guess it would be easy to bash Chavez for that, but it was not his administration that plunged his country into poverty. He is the first ever indigenous (indian) president of that country. He's an interesting guy. If you read the entire speech before the UN you'd see that there was a lot more to it than that soundbite. He's done more to help the poor people in his country than any other before him. Is he a terrific guy? I don't know - is Bush a boy scout?
The thing about Latin America is it has been subject to imperial exploitation for hundreds of years. This has laid its people low. The interesting thing now is that I heard on NPR just the other day that Chinese military people are visiting Latin America on a regular basis. Since China holds a lot of the notes of the US national debt we'll see where the Monroe Doctrine is now Moses.

I was quite happy with the results of the latest election. But as an independent I feel that if the corruption and deadlock continues that all incumbents should be shown the door.
I'm not against Cape Wind, but I'm not for it as of yet either. I want to hear something beyond the bickering. It's also definitely not the reason I voted for Patrick. I almost went for Mihos just because of the heads-up-the-ass commercial, as I thought it reflected my general feelings of politicians at this point.

Christ would be turning over in his grave (not disrespectful) if he saw the idolatry and hippocracy that has been carried out in his name over the centuries. If it hadn't been for the printing press the multitudes would still be mystified by all the mumbo-jumbo spouted by the Catholic church.
If people of faith really wanted to perpetuate Christ's message they would lead by example of charity, love and kindness, as opposed to blind obediance and insisting all be as they are; damning all who disagree.
Christ sealed his fate when he threw the money changers out of the temple, it gave the Theocons of the time their best excuse.
Many "people of faith?" - Many people of little faith pretending to be people of faith and persuing an agenda of power - not very Christ-like. They should take thier money out of campaign ads and get some counseling for themselves and give the rest to the poor and not tell anyone about it. The "people of faith's" egos are unbearable and gross to anyone of reason and true piety.
