Richard...as I have said before and will say again....it isn't about Democrat or Rebublican......this two party system is to keep us distracted and divided....they have YOU hook line and sinker.....spouting off every chance you get about the GOP......if you put your focus on the real issues, you could probably do some really helpful things.......unfortunately you have been blinded and distracted...it is such a shame a good mind has gone to waste pointing fingers in a direction that has no relevence.

People are pissed because they are hearing what is in the bill from second and third hand sources....may be true, may not be true.....where they should be hearing the facts from is their elected representation, but they can't because their representatives either don't know the answers or won't take the time to answer questions. Thats why you see such anger at these dog and pony show "town hall" hearings.
The opposition to this legislation as far as I can see is based upon the fact that we have members of the Senate and Congress admitting the legislation is too big to read by themselves (must have aides help them) and yet they want to quickly pass it and move in as if its not something worthy of serious debate and deliberation.

Maybe Richard??
My question is this.......The states were here first (13 anyway), and we created the USA Federal Government. So what was the initial purpose of the Federal Government? Over the last 300 years, have they overstepped their Constitutional rights afforded to them by "we the people"?
This is not biased based on party, I am a concerned Massachusetts citizen tired of what our Federal Government (Dems and Repubs) is taking away from us.
While it certainly seems Mr. Perry is jumping on the proverbial bandwagon....the question remains....IS THIS A NECESSARY ACTION?

I have concerns about the true intentions of the politicians/businesses pushing this agenda. It seems to me that alot of them are well positioned to profit from this next Industrial Revolution.
I have zero stake in siting this in Nantucket Sound, but yet feel there are less obtrusive locations that are available. Also, not convinced on the supposed savings to the Cape rate payers.
From the supporters to the non supporters, I have yet to read any post that is against clean energy, I think most who post objectionably are against the location, not clean energy.

Baseball purists will tell you otherwise, but to me, its not a big deal.
I find it hypocritical that the League is now running around making it appear that they are trying to clean up baseball, when they turned the other cheek back in the mid 90's when they were trying to put fannies back in the seats after the strike.
Baseball has lost all credibility now....so they have become strictly for entertainment purposes.....sort of like "Pro Wrestling".

Solar would work fine in areas that are blocked from the wind.
However, most towns have a high ridge right near Route 6, can't think of a better spot than right near the super highway for all those beautiful windmills.
Also, I wouldn't consider West Main Street at Country Gardens to be a high wind area, but their windmill does fairly well.

No way.....the banking cartel would rule the world with a single global currency....it's bad enough now, but at least we can work to abolish the Fed and return the monetary system to where it belongs...we the people.
Abolishing the Fed is the way to stabilize our monetary system, they create the bubbles with their insane monetary manipulatiion....and if you remove the Fed, we wouldn't have massive amounts of interest to pay.
Congress has the ability under the Constitution to print money....however, Calvin Coolidge gave that away in 1913, and the currency should be backed by gold or silver, but Nixon gave that away in 1971.
Global currency is hogwash, we just need to correct the policy mistakes of the past and we will be headed in the right direction.
In response to: Non-Residents and Public Benefits
They won't be punished, nor should they be....the borders are open for a reason.....wouldn't you do the same thing if you saw "opportunity" in America? Yes it's ILLEGAL, yes they should become legal citizens, but they don't.
Embrace it for what it's worth....a political hot potato where no one wants to deal with the real issue......Why are they here, and why is no one doing anything about them.
It's easy to say they are taking jobs away from US citizens, but until now, they are jobs no one wanted. Welfare benefits paid more than some of these jobs, so they fill a great niche. Thus the lack of any enforcement of immigration laws or border control.
In response to: Non-Residents and Public Benefits
If we got rid of all the illegals here, there would be no manufacturing/producing jobs, these businesses would just pack up shop and leave the USA because they can't compete. The USA is now a service industry.....the plumber fixes the electricians pipes, the landscaper mows the plumbers lawn, and the electrician fixes the landscapers wires, etc.
The real issue is that the government has been hiding the level of inflation in the US for decades...because of this phony baloney fiat money system. One of the ways to hide it is to keep labor cheap thus keeping food and materials cheaper.
This country is in serious debt and they have been rolling it over and over for a while now....thats why I get the feeling this economy is in deep trouble, unless Obama can come up with a way to prolong the inevitbale.
So, while illegals are a grave concern, the focus should be on why they are here and why neither party makes them leave.
In response to: Non-Residents and Public Benefits
And, I think its not addressed, because they really don't want to deal with it.
So these little amendments are all well and good, but the main issue will never be addressed.....why are they here and why haven't they been removed??
In response to: It's safe to say nobody likes taxes, gray heads and suits protest here
Follow the money....the two parties are the ones getting the big payoffs.
If you look at alot of Obama's cabinet, its all banker/wallstreet types, consisting of some of the same people that were at the table when this mess was started. I know most of the voters who voted for him wanted change, but it's so obvious both parties are influenced by the same people. They want you to think that we have two separate choices, when actually they are trying to accomplish the same thing, but from different directions.
I am tired of the finger pointing between parties, I am personally done with it. It has become apparent to me that it doesn't matter which party is in power, neither benefits middle america and that's where I am coming from.
It's time for a serious third party, but I already know it will take ALOT of effort because as you said, they will be pigeonholed as extemist. Middle American needs to step up, but I am not sure we have any influence because we have become the minority.

No one realizes it's all past the point of no return. The endgame is upon us.
The government has set us up, and we are in the midst of complete world wide economic collapse.
Keep spouting about partisan politics, it's exactly the distraction they want us to focus on as everything crumbles before our eyes, but yet we don't see it. You can thank the greedy bankers and wall street cartel for that.

This goes for the former administration as well as the current one.

Enlighten us? What are the issues?
Just curious, what would you like to see at that location? I can't believe that the preference would be what's there currently.
I am assuming this property is up for sale. If the condominium owners are so concerned about what is in their backyard, why didn't they buy the property and turn it into a sanctuary, pool, or whatever else they want.
Otherwise, the property owner and prospective buyer should be able to construct what they have legally been approved for. They aren't pulling any punches, they followed the appropriate legal channels for approval of their project.
Now that the condo owners didn't get what they wanted, they are crying in their milk.
I agree, this is a waste of everyone's time and money.
In response to:
This is not to denegrate your service to our country. I truly appreciate your commitment and sacrifice.
With that said, the ulitimate goal of conquering Iraq and other portions of the middle east isn't to free the people or get terrorists. It's purely to control the oil and other natural resources available in that area.
Plain and simple....keep your eyes focused on Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Those areas are up next for the great US strike force.
This isn't a slam on any particular political party, as I think both are controlled by the same groups of people. The parties just take two different directions to achieve the same ultimate goal.

NO doubt, the last year of Bush's tenure, certainly started to turn to socialist policies as well.
I am ready for a third party, just not sure its possible.
In response to: Boston Globe may close in 30 days, Times threatens staff, union
Losing money you say??
Let me just give you a small example of "losing" money.
I buy a house for $125,000 back in 1991, the rental income pays the mortgage. It's a good deal for everyone.
Speed ahead to 2004, the rents are twice that of 1991, but the mortgage is the same...economy is cranking, everyone is making money, some more than others. In 2005, the greedy owner decides to refinance so that the rents once again just cover the new higher mortgage of $350,000. The owner pockets the re-finance money, spends it wherever/however he wants (not in higher wages of course).....now speed ahead to 2009. The markets have tanked, rents have dropped, and the owner now has a $500 deficit each month.....the owner has 2 options.
Raise rent (i.e. lower wages), or let the property go to the banks (i.e bankruptcy)....(well 3, he could light in on fire and collect the insurance money, discussion for another time).
So, I ask you....have they really lost money?
Stop believing everything you read.
In response to: You are missing the point
However, this does not give the D party carte blanche to pass a $3 trillion budget, that three generations will have trouble repaying.
It's funny, this tea party should be directed at both parties, because they both stink right now.

Talk to the fat cat board members, tell them they should give back some of their multi millions they took out of the company when they should have been saving for a rainy day like NOW.
Maybe they should ask for a bailout....not sure the bankers would be willing to share.

Couldn't agree more with your initial post here.
You put it as eloquently as I wish I could.
I believe you see the forest through the trees. I wish everyone had the insight you do, then maybe we would have a prayer of taking back our country from these corporate/banking thieves.
In response to:
You should practice what you preach......you say the first step towards taking back America is to stop dividing us by labels such as "socialists, etc.", but yet your first sentences throws blame at the republicans.
I agree with the sentiment of your post but the first sentence makes you a hypocrite.
Republican/Democrat is irrelevant. It is merely two different sides of the same coin. In this case, the strings were loosened, bubbles were created, now the strings are being tightened and a huge power grab/transfer of wealth is taking place. As taxpayers, we are all paying dearly for our legislators past sins.
They want us to be divided because it's easy to blame a particular party, but think about what the ultimate end result was/is.

I agree, for some reason everyone (our legislators) seem to be ignoring the crux of the problems and insisting on spending our trillions of our money to "fix" the problems.

Cape Cod Today is just a victim of limited staffing..now I get it.

In response to: Mashpee coach arraigned on statutory rape charges; Woman trapped in car after Service Road crash in West Barnstable
Seems more and more young "adult" act as immature as a 10 year old.
Sorry to the victim, consentual or not, the "adult" should know better.
In response to: Listening Tour
With all due respect, it's past the point of no return for the taxpayer.
Our government asks for opinions, gets them, then does what it wants anyway.
This is merely a dog and pony show to make it seem like they give a crap about how it will affect us taxpayers.
The affects are obvious to most, unless you live under a rock.
In response to: Listening Tour
If those dolts up a the state house can't figure out the negative impact that these increases in taxes, fees, tolls etc. will have on everyone without these meetings, they are more idiotic than I thought.
In response to: CPN Clean Power Now Once Again calls upon Senator Kerry to fulfill his promises
Plus, a few people will come out and tell you that this information you are seeking has been discussed ad nauseum over the past few years.
You are going to have to find your info and facts at another site, because this one is in Cape Winds hip pocket.
In response to: Tolls on the Bridges--a Tired Old Idea
I don't know the exact history, but I believe they were created with a vote of the people or should I say sheeple, who have their head so far up their butt, they don't know what they are voting for. Until for some reason, the tax man comes knocking on thier doors, then they decide to get upset about.....
Reap what you sow, the majority voted for this, so live with the idiocy.
In response to: Alliance sues CZM, seeks to stop Cape Wind from moving forward
I will be the first one here to say I was wrong if it does come to fruition, and I will also be the first one here to say I told you so if it doesn't.
It isn't about being green for me, because I think we can accomplish much more somewhere else, rather than in this location. However, if it helps my pocketbook, then I say let's see it.
I am still not in favor of the project for this reason.
Of course, this has been argued ad nauseum, so truthfully, I wish this would just be over with or go away.
In response to: Clan "On Alert" for Ted's condition; Is Vickie being groomed to succeed him?
Why don't you just name the site Cape Wind Today?
Blessings and well wishes to Ted and his family...I wouldn't wish sickness and suffering on anyone, even if I disagree with their politics.

In response to: Amy Surrette Greene, well-known Cape Realtor, dies
Sorry to her family and loved ones.
By all accounts, she was a great individual.
In response to: Rep. Patrick's position on the gas tax
Seems as though most of Obamas financial guru's are either failed Fed Reserve types or retreads from the Clintons, basically part of the problem.....so what do you expect?
Dem/Repub, it's irrelevant none of these morons know how to handle what's going on, they just act like they do.
So sad.
In response to: Rep. Patrick's position on the gas tax
What are you looking for a bunch of rump swabs to give you a nice butt kissing because you are doing such a great job?
Get over yourself and get back to the real world....can can only suck so much blood from a stone.
Until you dopes in the government realize it, we are going to resent your BS politics.
In response to: Rep. Patrick's position on the gas tax
You have to be kidding me with your "simple" solution.
Why on earth would you use a tax as an incentive to cut the use of something? There are enough excuses/reasons that they have to raise taxes. Another tax on already strapped families is the last thing anyone should be supporting.
I am all for conservation of resources and eliminating our dependence on foreign oil....however we should be fighting for cutting government spending not adding another tax to make up for all the wasteful spending.
In response to: You'll be saying WOW after a visit to the new STK in Hyannis!
I wish you good luck and truly hope you succeed.
In response to: Senators Reach Accord on Stimulus Plan as Jobs Vanish
Unfortunately Obama is just making the terrible situation he inherited much worse.
By all acounts, the proper way to handle this situation is to let things correct on their own without any government intervention. However, this is an unpopular direction for a newly elected president who has promised great things.
So when this tact of printing trillions of fake money blows up into inflation and a devaluing of the dollar beyond repair, he will have the luxury of blaming Bush (like everyone else).
In response to: Red Cross honors police officer involved in fatal shooting
You know how the saying goes....until you walk a day in their shoes, you have no idea.
In response to: Cape real estate sales, prices fall in January
If you think Trillions and Trillions of dollars from no where, with nothing behind them are going to stimulate this economy, you are sorely mistaken.
Our beloved government, needs to get their noses out of this mess and let the free market correct itself. Yes it would hurt, ALOT....but propping things up with bogus money printed out of thin air is going to make the current mess look like good times.
I agree with the wishinguwell, who said, sell now, because the bottom isn't in yet, and will not be in sight for many, many years...

Embrace it.....the majority voted for it.

In response to: Yarmouth Chief of Police responds to Judge O'Neill's comments about Yarmouth police officer
You get crap when you do your job, and you get it when you don't.
The Yarmouth force works hard and conducts themselves with dignity and professionalism. They have nothing to hang their heads about.
However, some of them could stand to lose a little weight....they have more than a few rolly poleys (sp? where is Ned when I need him) over there.
In response to: Truth in advertising, is a discount always a discount?

In response to: Pro fundraisers take lion's share from local charity campaigns
Everyone posting here makes it sound like every charity is some scam.
Also, keep in mind, the percentage these fundraisers received may be deceiving.....it could be that if the campaigns were more successful, the total fees might have been close to the same as listed, and thus the percentage the fundraiser receives would go down.
Not every campaign is successful, however, these fundraising companies still get their take.
Just a different perspective.....

In response to: Globe Editorial excoriates Kennedy and Delahunt; New Interior Dept. head a friend to Cape Wind
The Globe is a joke, like most liberal rags in print (I know Ned would be proud) these days....."The New England economy sure could use the 600 to 1,000 jobs this project will create over the 2 year installation...."
Well, the proposed Casino will create as many, if not more, longer lasting jobs than that, but I don't here the Globe trumpeting that cause.....
Give it a rest...maybe Kennedy and Delahunt have it right........good green technology, but wrong location.......
In response to: Sunday's belated but great Falmouth Christmas Parade
In response to: Licensing and water woes continue to plague Wellfleet's Bookstore Restaurant
I know it says water supply, but that doesn't jive with why they are waiting for approval.
Of course it may say in one of the previous stories, but I didn't read all of them.
In response to: Winds of change are blowing
In response to: Casino comeback? Globe says yes, Times says no; Phony Wamp gets 4 months; State ramping up renewable energy to meet 2020 goals
I will bet (pun intended) that this enterprise will employ more people than Cape Wind will.
Ahhhhh, alas, it's just not as PC to be in favor of a casino..... you know, with the undesirables it attracts, and all.
In response to: Winds of change are blowing
For the life of me, I can't figure out how a private entity is "entitled" to place their private interests in publically owned waterways.....
In response to: One man's trash isn't always another man's treasure
However, when you say "and even though public officials drive by the home numerous times during the day", I disagree.
That's such a silly statement.....I am sure they have more to worry about than a pile of garbage on Phinney's lane.
Put the blame and burden where it belongs, on the property owner, make this their problem and responsibility......I have had enough of everyone asking our government to handle everything for them.

At any rate, keep up the good work monitoring the site for correct grammar.
We have taken up enough of this space for inane banter.
In response to: Police chief, two others, club indicted for death of Christopher Bizilj
Personal attacks aren't condoned on this here website.
So without attacking back, i will retort.
Dear NED, IT'S is a contraction of it and is. It was purely an omission, not a lack of knowledge, as you imply. As you can see, I used the apostrophe correctly on the third line.
I will grant you the "rag" comment, as I was using the term loosely with regards to this website's (possesive apostrophe) journalistic content. I could see how you would think I thought this site was made of paper.
And yes, I am one of the lonely, and proud of it.....keep on posting.
In response to: Police chief, two others, club indicted for death of Christopher Bizilj
Its a left wing rag website.
Take it for what it's worth, a place for lonely people to post worthless drivel. Nothing more.
In response to: Christmas joy came early to Cotuit this year
In a world full of hatred, greed, apathy, selfishness...it's always nice to see the smiles.
In response to: Ted, call off the dogs
Also, this malarky about it making an economic impact for the Cape residents is insulting.....this is a for profit business idea...plain and simple.
When the Canal power plant was built, I remember big promises about breaks in our electric rates.....NEVER HAPPENED.
I am as environmentally conscious as the next guy, but give me a break trying to sell this project for more than what it is......a for profit business with a politically correct technology.
In response to: Biden is fed by Felis; Green business council formed; Orleans-connected Treasury Secretary's task
Sure, a national banking system that benefits the taxpayer is fine....the current system is a debt money system....its bogus, we need monetary reform, until the government prints its own money, we will never get out of the debt we owe the Federal Reserve.
Just so we are clear the Fed is an Agency of the government but not owned by the government. Don't be fooled by thinking they are on our side here.....
In response to: Perry: Dump Turnpike Authority, plans for higher taxes
It's unfortunate you don't see the point of what Crusader is saying...see Rockefellers and Rothchilds (among others) control the Federal Reserve.....and yes the Federal Reserve is the crux of our economic problems.....problems that are going to get ALOT worse before they get better.....we need to stop focusing on Democrat vs. Republican and focus on the real culprit.....do some research on the Fed, you will be astounded.
In response to: Biden is fed by Felis; Green business council formed; Orleans-connected Treasury Secretary's task
So true, the bankers run the country....doesn't matter Dem or Repub.....google Federal Reserve....Did you know that the Federal Reserve is not owned by the government??? Its owned by private bankers who benefit off of the interest for printing our money...basically off of the taxpayers back....I was floored when I learned this....check it out...there is plenty of info/videos on google or you tube...its astounding.
