Check out www.welcometobarnstable.com for some interesting information on criminal activity and the homeless population of Hyannis and Greater Cape Cod.

Also, consider candidate Jeff Perry, and a contribution to his campaign coffers. Straight up, and a former Wareham Policeman, Perry tells it like it is!

Personally, I think Barack Osama looks an awful lot like a terrorist. Only Teddy Bear would find election of this phony amusing!

Police, fire and rescue on www.capecodtoday.com is posting that the au courant simply cannot afford to miss. I borrowed some of your photos of fires in the Hyannis area set among homeless clientele on a recent post on www.welcometobarnstable.com. The site demonstrates the long term mismanagement of government funds for the homeless and the convolution with public figures on the Cape.

Lastly, I'm watching Mr. Jeff Perry, politically, and I've had my eye on his career for a few years. It appears that he is raring to go since graduation from New England School of Law. I'm wishing the Perry family well, and hoping that they will support him in a run for higher office. His words on universal health care are on point. I think there's hope on the horizon for the shores of the Cape.

It would help if the populace could scrounge up a few more political runners of his stature and character. It's not easy to effect change if political candidates are forced to rub elbows with the status quo. Familiarity breeds contempt.

Has Peter Robbins considered himself to be polically inclined?

One can only imagine how many firing neurons are required to "Just Say No" to political corruption in our "Brave New World". The immenseness of heroical intellect can only be factored by those still breathing, with a pulse, and more than one synapse functioning.

Don't mind the reference to Huxley, but in My Book, Big Brother is Jesus. Provincial, huh?

Hot topic of the decade is crime prevention. A short conversation with Mr. Christopher H. "Toppy" Worthington, Esq., and one would know his stance on crime prevention in Hingham. I suggest Mr. Jeff Perry consider the voting public's feeling on safety here in Barnstable, and develop a platform accordingly.

A winning agenda is precisely that, a winning agenda. We've all seen what can happen when crime becomes lucrative. It's disheartening and frightening when the money makers off perpetual tragedies are the law enforcers.

Just because Mike O'Keefe was a lemon cop doesn't mean Jeff Perry has lost self-respect for his noble beginnings. We're all looking for a hero these days!

Hey Jeff Perry, log on to www.welcomtobarnstable.com, figure out what went wrong with human services in Barnstable County, clean up the county, and do the responsible thing. Throw your hat into the ring for a run in the next Barnstable District Attorney's Race!

I'll be following your website and youtubes, let me know where to send the campaign contributions. All you have to do is clean up the corruption, maybe even just a little bit. Do something about the causes for crime on the Cape, develop a strategy for crime prevention, and you have my vote. I may have more to throw in your campaign coffers than you think, and my contributions come without political favors attached!

No, we'll always have his fantastic, not to bright, progeny to mock. Kennedy was forgiven a million times over in 2003. Contrary to what you think, it's not okay for the big liberal senator to flout an Act of God.

You don't want to know what he asked me for. The guys a creep, Ned. I'm really hoping for some peace in my earthly life after the bastard is dead. Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. I'm mum on what I was told about the reasons for Ted Kennedy's eternal demise.

With that big smile on Teddy Bare's face, you would think he's been guaranteed 72 vestal virgins on Judgment Day.

Senator Rob O'Leary is a real rocket scientist. The legalization of syringes and needles is another one of his gems. Contaminated needles and syringes are now strewn all over Hyannis.

You're a genius, Rob!

Maybe Ted could work on provision of psychological support services for police officers who get confused in Cambridge. Being arrested as a Gates, is like being charged with manslaughter, as a Kennedy. Peon law enforcement types remind me of officials at the airports. Occasionally, the power elite must push, shove, act rudely, and scream "Do you know who I am?", drive home from the airport after a few cocktails at the airport lounge, and drive home a little tipsy and hit a guard barrier. The Kennedy Health Care Bill is his final legacy.

I also hope there is mental health coverage for teen cousins in trees that swing golf clubs, and provisions made sexual assault services at local Palm Beach Hospitals. Barack Obama is doing great as a President, and Caroline Kennedy should be a little haughty over her snub as Ambassador to the Vatican. The Kennedy's and the Kerrys are just great Catholics.

Let the Ted know I hope the Pope is praying for him, so I don't have to. There is no forgiveness for corruption. Get used to the sarcasm, Ted.

In response to: Yarmouth marine dies in Afghanistan; Yarmouth Police release a statement
I noted the many references to Lieutenant Steven Xiarhos many times in the newspaper over the eight years I lived in Barnstable. Although items pertaining to public safety can be contentious, whenever I read any of Lt. Xiarhos work in the papers, irrespective of what I witnessed, I believed the world was still a good place, that I was safe, and that I was in good hands. I didn't know he had a son serving in Afghanistan, and I am saddened to hear of a tragic death of such a vital and brave young man. No doubt he will hear many times the quality of a hero is son was, but I'm not sure any of us will ever understand the extent of such sacrifice in this life.

No doubt, he is in good hands, in a good place, with the only one who could possibly love and appreciate him as much as his parents and family. My condolences to this family and my prayers for him, and all who loved him.
07/21/09 @ 4:11 pm
boot68, Hilarious! I've never been married and never had children because I couldn't get the world to be a perfect enough place for them. The only thing I observed was chaos and confusion. If you had to take a test, as you do to apply for a license to drive a car or to "bear arms", most parents of our new drug addicted and self-indulgent generation wouldn't even be qualified to get a learners permit!

www.welcometobarnstable.com. Let's get together as a community and pressure the "powers that be" to improve the standard for safety for all, in particular, infants, youth and children.

In response to: Mary Jo Kopechne died 40 years ago today
coatuet...The Kopechnes were definitely paid cash in addition to the insurance settlement. Kennedy long said that he wanted to take responsibility for the loss to the Kopechne family, but never admitted ultimate responsibility for the death of Mary Jo. Pam Burkley of CORD(Cape Organization for the Rights of the Disabled) was also paid by the Kennedys after the accident that crippled her with Joe Kennedy driving left her a paraplegic. There was also a private settlement paid to the family of Lauren and Carolyn Bessette.

Trains, planes and automobiles, throw in political arrogance, a little vodka, and a little wacky tabbacky...multiple modes of transportation have been the downfall of the Kennedy clan.

Lastly, Joe Gargan definitely dove for the body. I know his son,a college classmate and his daughter Terry from boarding school. These were items for discussion long before Cousin Joe Gargan collaborated with Leo Damore. The DA, Jimmy Smith and related family who benefited professionally, financially and politically from this tragedy confirm they were threatened by the family.

I'm willing to believe that Kennedy was unaware Kopechne was in the car. Psychedelic mushrooms have had interesting effects on perception, and politics of this kind and the pursuit of absolute power would indicate someone of Kennedy's stature could care less who was driving. So many people have no sensitivity toward Kennedy and everthing he lost in the deal. Bye-bye presidential aspirations over some dead driver. Has anybody ever thought about how he feels?

Vote for Ted Kennedy. A blonde in every pond!

I guess I never realized that health care was truly the cause of Ted Kennedy's life. I thought he dedicated his political career to traffic safety, or somethin'.

Personally, I think Mary Jo's body never would have been found if Joe Gargan and Co. found her first. I can't imagine what they had against calling the police years ago, but we had dive teams, even way back in the day. This is how the infamous conspiracy theorists originate. Nobody knows what happened and a lot of this is speculation. When things don't add up, that's how the rumors start.

We know the cover-up is serious, so we know you're hiding something, Ted! www.welcometobarnstable.com comes up most of the time on Windows Internet Explorer. Every now and then, even I can't log on. It's a lot of pictures. (Of the homeless and Hyannis, most are my own.)
07/20/09 @ 4:03 pm
saltflyfisher, cape codders have become so violent over the years because of the infestation of narcotics to the area, indoctrination of socialism that includes inviting or essentially luring criminal offenders to the area with the promise of rehabilitation, and public officials including our district attorney accepting campaign contributions from exectives that expand negligent services. One of organizations in question and under scrutiny was developing an $11.5 million dollar farm project at the expense of the taxpayer, complete with two homes for executives of a price tag of $480,000 and %520,000 respectively.

The executives were fired, but went into policy type careers giving advice to the governor, and got better paying jobs.

Go figure!

Okay, commenting for the first time on this post is a different Mary. I have friends and family who were at the scene. Chappaquiddick, a political distaster that brought about the end of Ted Kennedy's credibility. The Gargan's went to school with me and the Smith kids, DA, at the time can confirm cover- up.

Some of my older posts on www.welcometobarnstable.com indicate my thoughts on this bastard of a Senator. And yes, he did send someone to my apartment for a request, that when mentioned, causes this website to block the IP.

Ted's a bastard, and John Kerry and his crazy arrogant brood ain't too far behind.

Narcotics treatment and addictions therapy has proved to be a colossal disaster for public safety initiatives. Putting Mike O'Keefe in charge of the District Attorney's Office and making him a contributing member of the Human Service Committee was the equivalent of putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

Melissa Gosule, murdered in 1999, by Michael Gentile of Hyannis is back in the news. Her family is sponsoring Melissa's Law seeking to insure madatory sentences for violent offenders. Michael and Steve Gentile were both clients of the NOAH Shelter, and their father, Phillip Gentile was punctual every morning at the Salvation Army for his morning doughnut. Phil was known for his "exploits" in the late evenings, driving around downtown Hyannis with a six-pack of beer trying to pick up women. See www.welcometobarnstable.com.

Like father, like son!

Good luck to the Gosule family and their efforts to improve safety and justice for victims.
