Breaking into a funeral home???? WTH would you want to break into a funeral home???

The MA DOT should really do something about these scenarios. Maybe they could put up some signs that say "NO U TURNS". Oh wait a minute.....they already have. That must be why they installed them.....

Sad thing is that you see it everyday, illegal U-turns, left turns where prohibited, running stop signs, lane zipping, I could go on and on....

Until you witness or are involved in a preventable accident like this, you don't think much about it

Hopefully the driver and her innocent passengers will be okay.

Any news on a child on a bicycle getting hit earlier today in Forestdale?

...This latest HURRICANE WARNING from the NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER has been brought to you by the fine folks at HOME DEPOT, LOWES, ACE HARDWARE, LIBERTY MUTUAL, ARBELLA, HINGHAM MUTUAL, blah blah blah...

Instead of preparing for another hurricane, we should be preparing for another "bend over folks and open wide"

Oh the irony....stabbing in a cemetery....rear-ended by a tow truck

Not a good day to be out cruising in large silver SUV's, actually the way the traffic has been, it doesn't matter what you're in.

The story of the family from Connecticut is heartbreaking. Good thing CT has the death penalty.

According to a local news source ...Parker has a lengthy driving infraction record, which includes four drunken driving convictions, dating back to 1982. He also has a case pending in Falmouth District Court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs in October in Bourne......He will also serve a 10-day concurrent sentence for driving with a suspended license at the time of the accident.

Do you think 2 years is too extreme? Unless you lose somebody close to you by the hands of a character like this, you may not agree.

I feel sympathy for both families involved.

In response to: Fun, food & frenzy at the Barnstable Fair this week
I remember hearing that Kelly Clarkson was on the Cape a while back. Taylor Hicks performed a month or so ago at the Tent and now Bucky Covington at the fair. We are getting our share of American Idol performers. Hopefully we can attract William Hung one of these days!

Just a reminder....before you go to the fair, tap out an ATM on your way, you're going to need it!!!!

I wonder if the actual statitics show this summer has been higher in accidents or if we are more aware of whats going on???

Hopefully, the adults will take these examples and have a talk with the kids on the importance of safety and practice it themselves. I have!

I can't tell you how many times I have damned near backed over someone at the mall or any given parking lot. People are just so oblivious! As a driver, I know the responsibilities, as a pedestrian I try to use the same thought process... Even though the ped has the right of way, why do they take the chance of not being seen?

And while I'm at it....take notice next time you're out driving....cell phone use while driving is getting way out of control! Wonder what the statistics are on "cell phone distracted" accidents. Any way of finding out, Tim?

38 comments as well, we are really shooting for a new record

Give the lady a break! First her Pilot is stolen by some punk kid, then her chest gets judged by the readers of CWN.

This is like going to the symphony just to see if a fight breaks out....w t f???

Again, Thanks for all you do, Tim and crew. Keep up the great work, hope all this bickering isn't too annoying.

Did I start all this with the "blurred" comment? Ooops...Sorry!

Keep up the fine work Tim! You and your staff do a great job covering the news on the Cape!

Where's Monposett? She would have picked up on that opening comment in a heartbeat.

I travel that stretch daily and let me tell you, it's a challenge! It's long overdue to redo that area.

I always enjoy a news story where the bystanders restrain the drunk drivers. Five times for this guy, no less!!
02/28/07 @ 5:34 am
I agree, Tim is my connection to the local news! Great Work!!

Assuming Taylors III and IV and are father and son, guess the business runs in the family. Is Lisa family as well?

Three minor children removed by DSS... What a sad situation.

Being an accessory to allowing a vehicle to idle for more than 5 minutes carries a mandatory imprisonment of 3 to 5, and/or fines, court costs and various legal fees..... Try to keep it under 5 minutes....lol

...The driver 72-year old Ursula Sullivan of Willowick, OH (right) was not injured and no one in the restaurant was hurt either....Judging from her facial expression in the picture, she appears to have enjoyed the little fender bender.

It is sad, 3rd time for this guy, 6th time for the guy back in January. Again...What a system!!!

I'm guessing the insurance companies are paying for the fence repairs. I would have given up after a second time. At least she doesn't worry about the fence rotting away....

Six times! How screwed up is the system? Wouldn't you think that maybe after the 2nd or 3rd time his "license to operate" would have been seized? Talk about slipping through the cracks! It would be nice to see the outcome of this ordeal. What a forgiving system...."It's okay, you made a mistake, here's your license back, be a little more careful please" "Thanks Judge, I promise!"
01/20/07 @ 4:11 pm
Tim - I just saw somewhere there were over 700 registered users. There's bound to jerks in those kinds of numbers. I too appreciate the effort you and your folks put into this. Keep up the great work and don't change a thing!

Is it just me or does he look a bit like Albert Einstein? Add a little more hair and thin down his face?
01/15/07 @ 10:31 am
Falmouth????? That's hard to believe..... Is it me or is Falmouth getting more than it's share of trouble lately?
01/12/07 @ 8:05 am
I know that intersection well, (Lumbert Mill and RT28). I suggest the next time Deval comes to the cape, give him the keys and let him cross that intersection a couple times to see what it's like. I bet if the right state worker got t-boned there you would see some action!
01/01/07 @ 6:28 am
I too want to Thank you and your crew, Tim, for all your efforts with this. I follow CWN on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the Cape is gaining numbers in crime stats and the public really need to know. Keep up the great work and Have a Happy New Year!

Hmmm, Falmouth....? I find that hard to believe, such a charming place.

Regarding the accident at exit 6, RT 6, I use it everyday on my way to work. It amazes me that there are not more accidents... It's a free for all at that time of day and people are zipping around lanes like they are on the expressway in Boston. If I had a dollar for every time someone cut me off around there, I could buy a Lexus!
12/13/06 @ 5:51 am
Regarding the boat ramp in Sandwich, I'm not a boater but.....when you want to launch a boat, don't you back it into the water??? Either way, it must have worked - no boat on the trailer...
