In response to: Should Kids Be Invited to Weddings?
When my wife and I got married back in 1999 we wanted to have the Matron of Honor's son as the ring bearer. However she said that it would not work as he was too young and that despite us having a daytime wedding, it was not an appropriate place for him to be.

Now on the other hand, one of the bridesmaids "assumed" that we would be inviting her daughter (who was younger than the boy by about 6 months) simply because she was my godchild. To top it all off, her mother went out and bought a dress for the occasion and also added her name on the RSVP card which had just been reserved for her and her husband!

We ended deciding not to invite any children simply because there would have been too many to invite. My wife has many cousins with young children and she knew it would be liking walking in a minefield if she only permitted certain children to attend.

Needless to say we had to be very discreet when telling my godchild's mother that she was not going to be invited. We knew she was pissed off but I think on the whole we had a very valid reason why we couldn't do it.

Folks, that wasn't oil that spilled, it was actually Chivas Regal that spilled out of Teddy's glass....

Couldn't agree with you more Andy. I'm as Red White and Blue as they come, but like Senator McCain I'm practical as well. Would I like to drive an American car? Of course! But having had a rather expensive experience owning three different American cars, in terms of repairs, my wife and I both drive Hondas because they are reliable and they don't constantly spend time in the repair shop. And to respond to the Howard "Dizzy" Dean argument about 40K jobs going overseas, he can thank his fellow Democrat Bill Clinton for pushing NAFTA...Now his wife wants to "modify it"? PUHLEEZ!!

99% of power outages here in Mashpee are usually due to some enlightened inebriated activist who hates Nstar and always aim for the poles...

ROFL.....

Well stated Andy. I too believe that this mudfest between the Obama and Clinton camps is only going to help Senator McCain. And as a well known Boston columnist/talk radio host described in one of his writings, it's a battle between the Hacks (Clinton) and the Moonbats (Obama). My hope is that they both get bloodied enough duking it out so neither one can survive the title fight in November.

Even if someone gets his or her license revoked, that's not going to stop them from driving I'm afraid. I would agree with the poster that suggested throwing them in the clinker with a lifer...
