32-Hour Basic Skills Mediation Training

Managing Personal & Organizational Conflict

This 32-hour course is designed for participants who want to learn the general practice of mediation. Mediation is a widely accepted form of dispute resolution, responsive to a broad range of disputes. This highly interactive training combines role play, exercises and presentations.

What is mediation?

This training examines the procedures, skills and strategies used by mediators and will include:

An overview of the dynamics of conflict
The step-by-step process of mediation
The responsibilities of the mediator
A mediator's "Tool Kit" of skills
Discussion of ethical standards for mediators.

Mediation roleplays for participants to practice learned skills.

Corsair and Crossrip Oceanfront Properties, Dennisport, MA

Tuition:
$550 (495 if payment is received by September 22)

Grants are available to cover half the training fee ($275) for small businesses
Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund Express Grants pay half your training fees if you work for a small business (50 employees or less). These grants contribute $275 towards yor tuition, reducing your cost to $275.

The application deadline for these grants is September 8, 2008.
