Shape Note Singing is a uniquely American style of unaccompanied folk hymn singing that dates from before the American Revolution, but is alive and well today. Its 4-part harmonies are sung full-voiced and with exuberance, with singers seated in an open square facing each other, not before an audience. We sing for the joy of singing and for the community of singers, to which newcomers are always welcome, regardless of their singing ability or any formal or informal spirituality. We'll sing from the Sacred Harp (1991 Revision). Books are available for loan. For more information about shape note music and Sacred Harp Singing, visit www.fasola.org, or just come to the singing and ask a singer.
