Yarmouth police arrest in-home caregiver on heroin charges

Suspect may face charges for stolen jewelry

SOUTH YARMOUTH - An in-home caregiver was arrested Monday on heroin charges.  According to a Yarmouth police release, the daughter of an 80-year-old Nightingale Drive resident with Alzeheimer's called to report a theft.  Officers arrived at the home just before 1 p.m. on Monday and met with the elderly woman's daughter and her 20-year-old caregiver, Kristy Lynn Enos-Cantalupo of 735 Harwich Road in Brewster.

The woman accused Enos-Cantalupo of stealing from her mother, according to police. While speaking with Enos-Cantalupo, the responding officers discovered she had heroin on her and placed her under arrest.

Enos-Cantalupo was transported to the Yarmouth Police Station where additional drugs and jewelry, thought to have been stolen from her patient were discovered on her person. She was charged with felony possession of a Class A drug (heroin), felony possession of a Class A drug (heroin) with intent to distribute and felony possession of a Class B drug (suboxone).

According to police, an investigation into the stolen jewelry continues and additional charges against Enos-Cantalupo are expected. She was arraigned in Barnstable District Court Tuesday.
