Raise funds, raise awareness during a festive, food-inspired evening hosted by Star Chef Tiffani Faison

Attention all foodies, the MassEquality Taste of Provincetown will be held this Saturday, August 27 at Provincetown Town Hall. This festival of fine food, wine and cocktails features a QuickFire Challenge designed by Top Chef competitor and host of the evening Tiffani Faison. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a fabulous food and wine tasting and live music. At 7 p.m., the QuickFire Challenge begins, with Chef Frank Vasello of Relish, Chef Michael Mishkin of Victor's and Chef Laurence deFreitas of The Mews competing. At 7:30 p.m., there will be a program featuring special guests followed by more music, food and wine from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Four celebrity judges will participate in the QuickFire Challenge: Dana Bisbee, Improper Bostonian society writer and contributor; John Michael Gray and Tim O'Connor aka the Hat Sisters and LGBT community organizer Ember Cook.

Local restaurants and wine and liquor purveyors Victor's, The Mews, Jimmy's Hideaway, Central House at the Crown, Ross' Grill, Patio American Grill & Cocktail Bar, Relish, Far Land Provisions, Bayside Betsy's, Ptown Parties, Harbor Lounge, Truro Vineyards of Cape Cod, Saki, Perry's Wine & Liquors and Waterford Inn Cafe and Tavern will provide the evening's fare.
Tickets are available on the MassEquality website or by calling 617-878-2365. Tickets are $125 per person, with sponsorship opportunities beginning at $250.
Host Tiffani Faison, an openly lesbian chef , was one of the two finalists on the first season of Top Chef. She went on to compete in Top Chef's 4 Star All Stars and Top Chef Holiday Special in which she took home the $20,000 prize. Faison has cooked at Boston's O Ya, Craigie Street Bistro, Perdix, Pigalle, Olives and the Straight Wharf on Nantucket. Next up, Faison is opening Sweet Cheeks in Boston this month.
All proceeds from Taste of Provincetown benefit the MassEquality Education Fund.
MassEquality works to ensure that every lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered person in Massachusetts is protected "from cradle to grave" with equal rights and opportunites in all aspects of their lives.
The Provincetown Town Hall is at 260 Commercial Street in Provincetown.
