"Writing About Cape Cod" - Three Week Intensive Course offered at Cape Cod Community College

Writing About Cape Cod – A Three Week Jump Start for Summer Writing

Planning to write this summer? Looking for a great starting point?  A new 3-week intensive creative writing course is offered June 1 to June 19 during June Intersession at Cape Cod Community College with veteran journalist and author James Kershner.  The course, “Cod Tales: Writing About Cape Cod,” is focused on non-fiction writing inspired by the people, places and history of Cape Cod.  Participants will create articles by interviewing Cape Codders and using historical archive materials.  The articles will be designed for publication and participants will be encouraged to submit their finished articles to local publishers.

Professor Kershner is an Associate Professor at CCCC and author of the popular textbook, “The Elements of News Writing.”  Kershner was the Sunday editor of the Cape Cod Times, executive editor of the Cape Codder and worked as a staff reporter for the Providence Journal.

To register call 508-362-2131 x4711 or visit www.capecod.edu and click on Campus Web.  For students who wish to gain credit hours, this course earns three college credits in just three weeks.
