Community Energy Corps Forum scheduled for tomorrow in Barnstable
Forum will promote local energy programs, provide DIY tips
CIRenew and the Green Sanctuary Committee of the Unitarian Church of Barnstable are cosponsoring a forum on the Community Energy Corps, a grassroots energy efficiency initiative empowering individuals to help themselves and others save energy and money
while staying comfortable and safe. The forum is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, from 6:30 to 8 pm, at the Church at the corner of Rte 6A and Phinney's Lane/Commerce Road in Barnstable Village.
The forum will promote local energy programs, provide energy-saving "do it yourself" tips, and highlight health and safety issues. It also will detail opportunities for Barnstable residents to form work crews and together address energy challenges at the individual and community levels, consistent with an immediate goal of making affordable and clean energy available to all and long-term objectives of cutting fossil fuel use, expanding reliance on renewable resources, and addressing fuel poverty, energy security, and climate change concerns.
