Red Cross partners with Curves of Cape Cod during National CPR/AED Awareness Week in June
National CPR and AED Awareness Week is June 1st – June 7th, 2009
HYANNIS -The American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter, announces that it is partnering with Curves of Cape Cod during National CPR and AED Awareness Week is June 1st – 7th, 2009. During that week, the chapter plans to reach as many people as possible with information about CPR and AED training and how important it is to know these skills and actually save a life. Posters will also be distributed to libraries, community centers, banks.
The chapter is especially excited about collaborating with Curves of Cape Cod, women’s workout organization, with 5 locations on Cape Cod. Curves members will receive a special incentive to sign up for CPR and AED training during the month of June.
Curves of Cape Cod owner Michele Brandt says: “We are very happy to partner with the Cape Cod and Islands Chapter, American Red Cross by offering this special incentive and increasing the awareness of CPR and AED training to our members. They are of all ages and most of them are very involved in their community. This could be the motivator to take the training to help save a life.”
The Cape Cod and Islands Chapter also announces that it can offer AEDs for those businesses and organizations, who are looking to install one.
CPR/AED Class information and schedules are available online here or by calling (508) 775-1540 for more information.
Classes available include:
- Adult and Infant and Child CPR/AED
- First Aid
- Community CPR
- First Aid/CPR/AED for Schools and Community
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer
The chapter also offers:
- Pet First Aid
- Babysitting
- Chokesaver for Restaurant Emergencies
- Aquatics
- and more
Students will receive training manuals and certification cards. In addition, the Red Cross offers a blended learning option, consisting of as little as 2 hours of online training and 2 hours of in-class training and certification testing.

All classes will be held at the American Red Cross Chapter House on 286 South Street in Hyannis unless otherwise indicated. For schools, businesses, professional rescuers, clubs and organizations, alternate pricing, dates and locations are available by contacting the Chapter at (508) 775-1540, ext. 12.
