Dennis Chamber honors members with Anchor Awards
Several businesses recognized for contributions to the Dennis Chamber
The Dennis Chamber of Commerce recognized several business members from the Town of Dennis for their contributions to the Chamber and the community at the organization’s Annual Meeting Dinner held at the West Dennis Yacht Club last week.
The recipients were:
The Beautification Award to Dunkin’ Donuts of West Dennis, represented by John and Karen O’Connor, for the investment in the architectural design and landscaping of their new facility on Route 28.
The Member of the Year Award to Mid Cape Come Centers of South Dennis, represented by Doug Bohannon for contributions to the Chamber above and beyond expectations.
The Volunteer of the Year Award to Nancy Woodworth of Dennis, representing the Y-D Red Sox, for volunteering at the Chamber above and beyond the call.
The Leadership Award was given to Phil Baroni, owner of the Mill Stores, of Dennisport and Hyannis. This award recognizes a member whose business leadership impact extends beyond Dennis and Cape Cod. The Mills Stores has grown to be the largest retailer of unfinished wood products in the country with 14 stores throughout New England. Mr. Baroni’s leadership also extends to his charitable service in the community.
Special recognition was given to Charles Chamberlain with the Founders Award. Given from time to time to a member who has contributed significantly to the Dennis Chamber over many years with his time, talent and treasure. “Charlie” Chamberlain, who owned the Patriot Square Mall was recognized posthumously. The Anchor Award was accepted on behalf of his family by Rob Chamberlain.
