Cape Cod Theatre Project's 2009 season to feature resident playwrights Joe DiePietro and Anna Zeigler

Joe DiPietro, Anna Ziegler, Aladdin Ullah and Zohar Tirosh to participate in The Cape Cod Theatre Project’s 15th Anniversary Season this July.

Four plays will be developed in July at The Cape Cod Theatre Project, culminating in three performances of each play as staged readings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm through the month of July at Falmouth Academy (7 Highfield Dr., Falmouth, MA).

Now in its 15th Season, The Cape Cod Theatre Project has produced 50 plays, 31 going on to full productions in New York and at prestigious theaters across the U.S. The Cape Cod Theatre Project continues to contribute to the vitality of the American Theater through its reading series by focusing on developing plays with top caliber talent and an enormously supportive audience. Each performance is followed by lively discussions with the audience which contributes to the further development of the finest emerging playwrights in America.

The Cape Cod Theatre Project Season is as follows:

Six by Zohar Tirosh, directed by Ian Morgan (July 9, July 10, July 11)

A jet-lagged, sun-drenched, six-day trip to contemporary Israel collides with family, politics and the Six-Day War.

Creating Claire by Joe DiPietro (July 16, July 17, July 18)

An exploration of the supernova that results when science, faith and politics collide. A provocative new comedy by the author of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, The Toxic Avenger and the Broadway-bound Memphis.

Based on the true story of Rosalind Franklin and her unaccredited contribution to the discovery of DNA’s double helix.

Indio written and performed by Aladdin Ullah, directed by Hal Brooks (July 30, July 31, August 1)

Aladdin rejects the legacy of his immigrant parents, until a PBS documentary forces him to uncover the journey of his father, Habib. Habib's misadventures in the land of opportunity are juxtaposed with Aladdin's childhood growing up in the only Bangladeshi family in Spanish Harlem.

The mission of Cape Cod Theatre Project is to contribute to the vitality of American theater by developing new plays that enable fresh voices to emerge. Staged readings of four new plays are performed each season by top-flight artists; audience feedback is solicited at each performance.
