New discussion group to form in Hyannis in June, focused on change

Group formed to help people deal with change

HYANNIS – A new community discussion group entitled “Lost and Found: Adapting to Life’s Inevitable Changes” is being formed to engage in a lively discussion about change, drawing upon members’ experience and wisdom. The general public is welcome. Sessions will be held every Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Whitehall Estate, 790 Falmouth Rd., Hyannis, for six weeks beginning June 4th and ending July 9th.

There is no fee, but registration is encouraged. The group will be facilitated by Ann E. Geagan, a licensed social worker for Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, who will facilitate the session to help participants:

  • Explore the elements of resiliency
  • Exchange personal tips for “making lemonade from lemons”
  • Develop new approaches for dealing with losses
  • Share stories of loss and renewal

Geagan says "It seems truer than ever these days. that the only constant in life is ‘change’. It’s a good time to have a conversation together about how we dealt with change in the past and share what we’ve learned to cope with uncertainty today."

Please call Laura Nickerson at 508-957-0266 to register or for more information.
