CPN announces Susan Reid as keynote speaker for annual meeting in Yarmouth Port

Annual meeting to be held in September at Ardeo Grille in Yarmouth Port

Clean Power Now is pleased to announce that Sue Reid, Director of Conservation Law Foundation’s Massachusetts Clean Energy & Climate Change Initiative will be the keynote speaker at the Clean Power Now Annual Meeting.

It is still possible to purchase tickets for Clean Power Now’s “Win for Wind” raffle, with a 2010 Honda Insight LX, one of America’s top-selling hybrid cars. Each raffle ticket will cost $100, which will give you a shot at winning this fantastic automobile and scoring a win for local clean energy. Ticket sales will be limited to 600.

The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on September 17th, 2009 at Ardeo Grille at Kingsway, located at The Club at Yarmouth Port (64 Kings Circuit, Yarmouth Port, MA). A cash bar is available and light appetizers will be served, followed by the program and the keynote speaker.

The event is free to the public, but registration at sarahc@cleanpowernow.org or at (508) 775-7796 is required.

About the Keynote Speaker

Susan Reid is a Staff Attorney and the Director of Conservation Law Foundation’s (CLF) Massachusetts Clean Energy & Climate Change Initiative. Sue’s work at CLF is focused on addressing the threat of global warming by promoting responsible new renewable energy development and energy efficiency and by pursuing initiatives to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Prior to joining CLF, Sue was the Advocacy Director for a local environmental organization in southeastern Massachusetts. Sue also previously worked as a litigation attorney for several years at law firms including Goodwin Procter and Fenwick & West. Sue holds a JD from Boston University and BA from the University of New Hampshire, both cum laude. She is admitted to the bar in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, State of California, U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She was on the board of directors of Earth Island Institute for nearly a decade and served as the President of the board but resigned over the organization’s unfounded opposition to Cape Wind!
