NAMI Cape Cod to hold first annual Cape Cod Charity Golf Tournament
All net proceeds to support local Cape Cod activities
On Friday, October 2, NAMI Cape Cod will hold their first annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Brookside Club in Bourne. NAMI Cape Cod is pleased to announce that former PGA Tour Player and Cape Cod native Jim Hallet will be participating in the event.
NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health) Cape Cod is dedicated to providing support, education and advocacy for families of people with mental illness and their family members with the illnesses. It is the organization's goal that people with mental illnesses become fulfilled and contributing members of the community. That they are able to enjoy what all people want--to work, have a family, relationships, financial stability and have the ability to contribute to their community.
NAMI Cape Cod focuses on advocating for, supporting and developing services, interventions and programs that enhance the knowledge, skills and support people receive in their journey to recovery. The organization also supports family members of those with mental illness.
There is an increase in demand for the services NAMI Cape Cod provides for the Cape and Islands. The purpose of the golf tournament is to raise funds to support the activities of the organization, such as communication with its 500+ membership base. In addition, funds raised during the tournament will go towards creating more support groups for family and friends who have mental illnesses, promoting speaker programs, educating family members and improving advocacy on the state and local levels. All net proceeds received support local activities on the Cape.
The 1st annual NAMI Cape Cod Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, October 2 at the Brookside Club in Bourne. The format is a scramble with shotgun start.
