Curves promotes wellness & breast cancer awareness with special event in Sandwich
Girls Get Together Party to be held Wednesday, October 28th
In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness, the Curves of Mashpee and Curves of Sandwich will host a special Girls Get Together Party on October 28th at 6:30pm. Studies have shown that physical exercise reduces the risk of breast cancer and Curves wants to take this time to encourage the women of Mashpee and Sandwich to learn more about the impact that wellness has on preventing cancer. A healthy diet, regular exercise, monthly breast self-exams and yearly mammograms together are essential in breast cancer prevention.
Michele Brandt, owner of Curves Mashpee and Sandwich, says, "No one will want to miss this party. We encourage all members, and non members to attend this great event. A lot of women know about breast cancer prevention, but don’t act on it. In addition, this event will feature a silent auction ( items donated by local businesses), breast cancer survivor speakers, food, drinks and lots more! Great networking opportunity as well".

Those attending the Girls Get Together Party will participate in a casual evening packed with valuable conversation, information and encouragement. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in a fund raiser to support American Cancer Society with the purchase of "In Memory Of" or "In Honor Of" donation certificates. American Cancer Society has always been near to our hearts," Brandt says. "This is a fund raiser that touches so many of our ladies."
Members and non-members alike are invited to participate in the Girls Get Together Party. Those wishing to become a member will receive a special discount in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness. October 1st through October 31st, the Mashpee and Sandwich Curves will offer a $0 service fee for those who provide proof of either a recent mammogram or a donation to American Cancer Society.
Brandt says, "The Curves of Mashpee and Sandwich is committed to helping the women of our community live healthy and strong lives and this Girls Get Together Party is just one way that we can help encourage them."
