Jeff Rogers of Conwell Lumber in Provincetown featured speaker at Guv's Conference last month

Rogers, a specialist in sustainable building

The Cape’s own Jeff Rogers, owner of New England Green and Conwell Lumber in Provincetown, was a featured speaker at last month’s Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers held in New Brunswick Canada. Entitled, “Sustainable Building Practices in the United States and Canada” the conference highlighted Rogers who is a recognized specialist in the emerging sustainable building industry.

In 2007 Rogers received the first United States Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum award in Massachusetts for the reconstruction of his home in Truro. Rogers was able to test and scientifically appraise newer, green building supplies and practices integrated into the design before offering them to his customers through New England Green, which is located in his store Conwell Lumber in Provincetown.

With almost all his home’s energy produced by renewable energy resources installed as part of the home, the Rogers house has earned “Net Zero Energy Home” status. Tastefully appointed and comfortable, the award-winning home also requires one third the water consumed by an average American home.
