USCG AUX Flotilla 11-1 Chatham offers boating skills course beginning in January

Course open to adults and teens ages 12-17

The USCG AUX Flotilla 11-1 Chatham is offering a boating course entitled, "Boating Skills and your State Boating License". There are five Tuesday evening sessions from 6:30pm to 8:30pm beginning on January 12, 2010.  Four of the sessions will be held at the Chatham Community Center and one will be held at the Coast Guard Station in Chatham.

The cost for adults is $35.  There is no charge for juniors, 12-17.

Instructors, experienced in local waters, will cover boat handling, rules of the road, aids to navigation, weather, equipment, radio communications and State boating regulations.

The course is National Association of State Boating Law Administrators approved and the Junior course material is provided by the Massachusetts Environmental Police.
