Cape Cod Association changes scholarship process for 2012
Deadline to apply is April 2, 2012
The Cape Cod Association has announced the start of its annual scholarship campaign with changes to its program for 2012. Over the past 10 years, the Cape Cod Association has distributed more than 3,000 awards totaling over $4 million to local students.
Beginning this year, new applicants, and those who have not previously received this scholarship, must apply using the Cape Cod Association’s online application system. Deadline to apply for those applicants is midnight on April 2, 2012. As was the case last year, past recipients of the scholarship must reapply using the online application system, with a deadline of midnight on March 15, 2012.
“Last year’s pilot of the online system worked very well, and we are excited to be able to go fully online with our application process for 2012,” said Nancy Snow Lowery, Cape Cod Association Scholarship Chair and Board Vice President. “Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are confident that this change will facilitate the process for our review committee as well as for the applicants.”
The Cape Cod Association, dedicated to helping students who were born on and reside on Cape Cod or the Islands achieve success in higher education, offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors and college students for up to four years of an undergraduate program. The Cape Cod Association does not fund graduate education. Applicants may attend two- and four-year colleges, technical schools, and community colleges anywhere in the United States. Last year, the Cape Cod Association awarded more than $400,000 to 337 local students.
Links to the online applications can be found on the Association’s website at www.capecodassoc.org. Late or incomplete applications, or applications on old paper forms, will not be accepted. For more information, visit the Cape Cod Association’s website or contact them at 508-790-8055 or info@capecodassoc.org.
