Photo Essay by Mark Chester
Mark Chester's photography is featured this month at the Dan Cutrona Photo Gallery
Mark Chester of Woods Hole is a superb photographer who still works in black and white.

Man With Opera GlassesHe teaches at Cape Cod Community College and the Falmouth Art Guild, and is having a show featuring his work later this month in Falmouth.
While so many professional photographers have deserted this classic form, Mark's black ans white photography makes the viewer remember how much more art it takes to achieve that "WOW" factor without the blessings of color.
Like Ansel Adams and the classical lensmen before him, he forces himself to deserve our attention with only the photographer's eye rather than the color spectrum's.
Someone once said, "a photographer is someone who takes a photo of something no one has seen before."
Mark Chester abundantly satisfies that criteria.
The show at the Dan Cutrona Photo Gallery starts May 28 and runs through the end of June. The galley is at 1 Locust Street, Falmouth, MA 02540, 978.502.9512
There will be an opening night reception on May 28 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
