AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod Seeks Donations for September Auction
ASGCC Auction to be held September 1 & 2, 2006 - donations still needed
This year, the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod (ASGCC) will be holding its annual live and silent auction on the 1st and 2nd of September 2006.
Donations are still needed for this very important fundraiser!
ASGCC is sending out a call to all artists, business owners, neighbors and friends to donate and volunteer.
Donations of art, services, merchandise--big items and little--may be dropped off at 173 Commercial Street--Auction Central/ASGCC Summer Shop.
The Summer Shop also features the auction preview, the "are you safe?" art installation, Provincetown AIDS archives and much more!
Volunteers are also needed--hundreds of people are needed to do hundreds of jobs.
It's been 25 years of AIDS--and still no cure....for more information contact ASGCC.
The 2006 Live & Silent Auction is sponsored by Seamen's Bank, the Provincetown Banner and Thomas D. Brown Real Estate Associates.
A letter from ASGCC:
Dear Friends,
This is a significant year for the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod. 2006 marks the 25th anniversary of AIDS epidemic surfacing in our country. It also marks the 20th year we have held our annual auction to raise the critical dollars needed to extend a wide range of services to persons living with HIV/AIDS on Cape Cod and Marthaâ??s Vineyard.
Once again we are turning to artists, business owners and our friends on the Cape to ask for your continued generous support. Our achievements over these last two decadesâ?? both in providing service and in hosting successful auctionsâ??are dependent on the kindness and generosity of hundreds of individuals such as you.
The 20th AIDS Support Group Auction will be held September 1st and 2nd. Over the next few weeks, we will be soliciting the following types of donations:
- original works of art and antiques
- merchandise
- gift certificates
- cash donations
- a creative item and/or package of your choice
All proceeds raised from the live and silent auctions will support our client services including our nutrition and transportation programs which are vital to the hundreds of low income and isolated individuals we serve.
If you have contributed in the past, we are deeply grateful for your support and hope you will consider us a worthy recipient again. If you have not contributed previously, we encourage you to become a part of this special event. In the coming weeks, a member of our auction committee will be contacting you. In the meantime, if you would like to donate to the cause, you may call our events coordinator Ewa Nogiec at (508) 487-9445.
Finally, be sure to check out this yearâ??s auction poster and t-shirt design. It was generously contributed by local artist Bruce de Ste. Croix. Bruce is not only a fine artist, he has recently joined our Board of Directors and is a long-standing client of our services.
For more information on our services, history and event, please browse throughout our website or stop by our Summer Shop at 173 Commercial Street for auction donation drop-offs and to preview auction items. Please call 508-487-9445 x 16 for our hours of operation.
Together we will make the 20th Annual ASGCC Auction the most successful one to date. We will also have the opportunity to remind our Cape neighbors that there is still no cure for HIV/AIDS. We look forward, with gratitude, to your support.
Heartfelt thanks,
Laura Thornton, Executive Director
Clem Silva, Auction Co-Chair
Jimmy Rann, Auction Co-Chair
