The Ballad of Teddy's 'Copter Ride

(Sung to the theme from "Gilligan's Island"
If you've forgotten the tune, turn on your sound and click here.

By Charles U. Farley

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful flight,
That started from New Bedford port,
To reach Hyannis by night.

The passenger was a mighty senator,
The chauffeur the finest alive,
The two men hit the road that day,
For a three-hour drive,
A three-hour drive.

The traffic started getting rough,
The Senator was out of luck,
If not for the courage of a Coast Guard pilot,
the limo would be stuck,
the limo would be stuck.

The pilot whisked them to the Cape,
Saving all much time that day,
The only problem for the trio was,
No package stores on the way,
No package stores on the way.

The pilot set ground on the shore of this,
beloved Hyannisport,
at a cost of $2500 bucks,
but not to the Senator,
who's a millionaire,
nor the pilot, or the chauffeur.
Instead, my friends,
we''ll eat the tab,
to whisk Ted to the compound.
