Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod Extends Deadline for Brewster
Application deadline extended for Brewster Habitat for Humanity home
The deadline for applications has been extended to June 1st for four 3-bedroom affordable homes to be built in the Town Brewster in 2007 and 2008. Three homes are reserved for residents of the Town of Brewster; one house is open to resident and non-resident applicants. A “resident” will either currently live or be employed in the Town of have other ties as defined in the application package. The new application deadline is 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1st.
Applications may be picked up at the office of the Brewster Town Clerk or by calling or visiting Habitat’s office at: 508-775-3559, 657 Rte 28, West Yarmouth, MA 02673.
Eligible applicants will have incomes at or below 65% of median income ($ 46,605 for a family of 4), have a serious need for decent affordable housing, be willing contribute hundreds of hours of “sweat equity” in the building of their home, and be able to make a monthly mortgage payment of $600 - $690.
Development of these homes has been made possible by a land donation from the Town as well as early grant commitments from Brewster Community Preservation Committee, Barnstable County HOME Consortium and TD BankNorth. All homes will be deed restricted to be affordable in perpetuity.
