Auditions & Dates Announced for 2nd "Plymouth Idol" Competition
Audition deadlines and dates as well as semi-final and final performance dates have been set
PLYMOUTH - This years competition will highlight Mayflower II's 50th Anniversary with all performers in the
Semi-Final & Final Rounds singing songs from the 1950s.
Sunday's Final Round special guest judge will be Nick Pedro from American Idol Season 6. Nick will also be performing and signing autographs after the competition. Jackson Blue from KISS 108 will also be judging the competition at Sunday's Final Round.
Those wishing to participate may register online here. Audition deadline is 4pm on August 6, 2007.
Audition schedule:
Wednesday, August 8th from 4:30pm-7:30pm at 14 Union Dockside Bar & Grill at 14 Union Street in Plymouth (at Brewer Plymouth Marine). 10 semi-finalists will be chosen.
Rehearsal schedule:
Tuesday, August 21st from 5pm-7:30pm at Memorial Hall in Plymouth. The 10 semi-finalists will have the opportunity to rehearse their 1950s songs prior to the competition with the competition DJs. This is the only scheduled rehearsal date (no exceptions).
Semi-Final Round Schedule:
Saturday, August 25th from 12pm-2pm at the Plymouth Waterfront Main Stage. There will be a special guest performance by last year's Plymouth Idol winner, Kelly Danner. The 10 semi-finalists will perform with 5 moving on to the final round on Sunday.
Final Round Schedule:
Sunday, August 26th from 12pm-2pm at the Plymouth Waterfront Main Stage.
Contest rules & information:
- Must be at least 15 years old to audition.
- All individuals must register to audition by completing the following Idol Registration Form.
- No walk-in auditions allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- No professional singers, this is an amateur competition.
- Performers will sing 1 song only.
- Audition song must be pre-selected at time of registration on the Idol Registration Form & may not be changed.
- Audition song does not have to be a song from the 1950s.
- All songs in the Semi-Final & Final Rounds must be from the 1950s.
- No a cappella, performers must use background music, like karaoke.
- No musical instruments.
- Competition registration ends on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. No registrations will be accepted after the deadline. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Those chosen to proceed to the Semi-Final Round will be notified via phone or email by August 13, 2007. Do not contact 14 Union Restaurant for your competition status. Only those selected for the next round will be contacted.
