Falmouth Hospital Announces New Medical Director
Daniel Kombert, MD named chief medical officer
FALMOUTH - Falmouth Hospital announced last week that Daniel Kombert, M.D., has been named Chief Medical Officer at the hospital, replacing long-time Chief Medical Officer Richard Adams, M.D., who retired this summer.
In his new role, Dr. Kombert will act as the primary liaison between the hospital?s management and its medical staff, and work to resolve physician relations issues. ?We have an excellent medical staff at Falmouth Hospital,? Dr. Kombert said, ?and the administration at the hospital is dedicated to providing physicians with the tools they need to assure quality care for their patients. I look forward to doing my part to enhance this productive relationship going forward.?
?Falmouth Hospital and our physicians will surely benefit from Dr. Kombert?s extensive background, knowledge and experience here at the hospital.? - Susan Wing, Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Kombert has been a member of the Falmouth Hospital medical staff since 1999. He attended New York Medical College and did his Residency at Westchester Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Kombert replaces a Falmouth Hospital legend in Dr. Adams, who practiced as a pediatrician in town for over 30 years before accepting the role of Chief Medical Officer in 2001. He has been focused on quality and accurate data reporting in recent years and has helped spearhead Falmouth Hospital to several quality awards and honors in recent years, including the hospital?s selection as one of ?50 Exceptional Hospitals? nationwide in 2005. ?It?s been many wonderful years here working with tremendous physician colleagues and a very supportive hospital,? said Dr. Adams. ?I will miss it greatly, but I eagerly await the new challenges and opportunities to come.?
?Falmouth Hospital and our physicians will surely benefit from Dr. Kombert?s extensive background, knowledge and experience here at the hospital,? said Susan Wing, Chief Operating Officer, Falmouth Hospital. ?We will certainly miss Dr. Adams and wish him the best in the next phase of his life. But I am confident that Dan will help the hospital achieve even greater success in the months and years to come.?
