Falmouth Hospital Honored with Two National Clinical Awards
FALMOUTH - Cape Cod Healthcare is pleased to announce that VHA, Inc., (Voluntary Hospital Association of America), a national health care alliance, has awarded Falmouth Hospital with two 2007 VHA Leadership Awards for Clinical Excellence, honoring the hospital for meeting or exceeding national performance standards for clinical care.
Falmouth Hospital captured this award in the categories of:
- Prevention of surgical infections
- Treatment for congestive heart failure
The hospital was honored at VHA’s Leadership Conference in Denver.
"This VHA recognition is a tremendous tribute to our team of healthcare professionals," said Susan Wing, Chief Operating Officer, Falmouth Hospital. "With these awards, residents and visitors of Upper Cape towns can continue to have complete confidence in the excellent care we provide at Falmouth Hospital, and in particular, our excellent track record in cardiology and surgery."
Of the 1,400 VHA hospitals, only 65, including Falmouth Hospital, won Clinical Excellence Awards in two or more of the clinical categories.
"At the heart of the covenant between patients and hospitals lies the belief that clinical excellence is paramount," said Trent Haywood, M.D., J.D., Chief Medical Officer at VHA. "Falmouth Hospital is a shining example of what can be achieved when a hospital’s actions are guided by the pursuit of excellence."
Based in Irving, Texas, VHA serves more than 2,400 health care organizations, including 1,400 hospitals.
