Don't Miss the Taste of Cape Cod Food Festival May 26, 2008
Spring themed restaurant and food festival planned in May
Attendees will discover classic & ethnic Cape Cod restaurants
HYANNIS - The much anticipated bi-annual “TASTE OF CAPE COD” Restaurant & Food Festival will be held again this season with the theme, “Spring into Summer”, a showcase exclusively for Cape Cod Chefs and Restaurants, on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 1PM to 6PM in the new Grand Ballroom at the Resort & Conference Center in Hyannis, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. This is the first of two seasonal festivals produced each year by the “TASTE OF CAPE COD”.
During the 5 hour event patrons will also discover over 1000 years of culinary expertise “all under one roof” showcasing: Cape Cod classic and ethnic restaurant chefs, cookbook authors, food journalists and regional specialty food and beverage producers.
A selection of 3 Restaurants from each of the 15 Cape Cod towns will receive the benefit of the many invited innkeepers from Bed & Breakfasts, Country Inns and Motels who will be invited to this spring event. Local town Chamber of Commerce staff members and Tour Directors will be admitted at no charge to stroll the grand ballroom discovering new eating establishments that may be recommended to people visiting Cape Cod.
Restaurants and Inns will be displayed town-by-town with one side of the ballroom featuring venues along Route 6A (the Cape’s north side) and the other side featuring venues along Route 28 (the Cape’s south side). The variety of restaurants will include several with a water view, some in modern structures, others in Sea Captain’s Homes and many on Cape Cod Main Streets, all added up to a varied tasting treat.
The “Chefs at their Best”© cooking demonstration stages will feature Cape Cod Chefs/Restaurateurs preparing garden vegetable signature entrees and introducing wines to compliment them. The Cape’s ethnic civic groups and dining establishments will also be represented on the cooking stage preparing recipes for patrons to discover the exciting diversity in taste sensations across Cape Cod.
Live music performed by Cape Cod entertainers play a key role throughout the festival with a dance floor for guests to express themselves while enjoying the vibrant and moving sounds of popular sixteen-piece big band, ‘The Moonlighters’. Summer fashion shows and outdoor dining garden settings add to this “spring into Summer Festival”.
The festival show will be televised and webcast on the “Fooding Around New England” TV shows during the summer months. The spring festival benefits in part the Family Food Pantry, Cape Cod Chapter.
Admission is $25.00 per person at the door, which includes sample food tastings, foodie door prizes, fashion shows, cooking demonstrations, and entertainment.
