IFAW's new international headquarters is a contemporary example of green building, which is environmentally sustainable and energy efficient. It is designed to facilitate open communication, collaboration and interaction, while promoting IFAW's global mission to provide a better world for animals and people. More than 30% of the structural steel used in the building was recycled from post-consumer waste. The full-height glass curtain wall that wraps around the building courtyard harnesses the sun's light and warmth, so IFAW headquarters is designed to use 32% less energy. Dual-flush toilets and advanced low-flow aerator faucets reduce water consumption.
