Conservatory’s Girls A Cappella Choir Holds Open Auditions
WEST BARNSTABLE – For the last 25 years the Cape Cod Conservatory’s Girls A Cappella Choir has been delighting audiences of all ages throughout the year and across the Cape. This by-audition ensemble – with members from Plymouth , Upper, Middle and Lower towns on the Cape, is welcoming potential new members to try out and come sing with them at the Conservatory’s West Barnstable Campus on Monday, August 25, 2008, at 4:00 PM.
“This is a group audition,” said Janice Hannah, the Choir’s only director. “We welcome girls from age 13-20 who have a love of music and singing. They’ll learn to sing better …and have a lot of fun.” Rehearsals start September 9, a week before classes officially begin at the Conservatory to prepare for upcoming events.
The choir has a busy, year-round performance schedule that peaks over the December holidays when they perform more than 15 times for various organizations as well as Village Christmas Strolls for Hyannis and Osterville.
Anyone interested in attending the audition on Monday, August 25, should call the Conservatory Registrar at 508.362.2772. In case that date isn’t convenient, call the Conservatory to schedule another time.
