Seeking Participants for ?Make It Better With Cranberries?

Cranberry Harvest Celebration Cooking Contest:  ?Make It Better With Cranberries 2008?

WAREHAM - Back by popular demand, the A.D. Makepeace Company and the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers? Association will be hosting ?Make It Better With Cranberries? cooking contest during the 5th Annual Cranberry Harvest Celebration.

We invite cooks of all ages to participant in this fun and exciting contest.  Contestants will compete in three food categories:

1. Entrée
2. Desserts
3. Healthy or Light

All recipes must include at least one cranberry product (Fresh or Frozen Fruit, Processed Fruit (juice/sauce) or Sweetened Dried Cranberries).  There are three subdivisions: 

1. Adults
2. Children (8 ? 16 years)
3. Professional

Adult winners in each category will be awarded gift certificates to Trucchi?s Supermarkets.  According to Ann Trucchi Condon, CPA, Controller ?Trucchi?s Supermarket is proud to sponsor jointly with the A.D. Makepeace Company and Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association this wonderful contest, Make It Better With Cranberries 2008.  For 80 years, Trucchi?s Supermarket has developed several generations of pride, heritage and loyalty within the region and the ability to participate.

A special thanks also to the Cranberry Marketing Committee (CMC) for the support in sponsorship for the ?Make It Better With Cranberries 2008? cooking contest.  The CMC was established as a Federal Marketing Order in 1962 to maintain favorable supply and demand equilibrium for the US cranberry industry. In 1992, the Marketing Order was amended under Section 929.45 of the Act to allow the CMC to promote the sale and use of cranberries and cranberry products.
