Wellfleet Rec. Department to Sponsor the 2008 OysterFest Round Robin
2008 OYSTERFEST TENNIS ROUND ROBIN
The Wellfleet Recreation Department is proud to sponsor its Third Annual Tennis Round Robin as part of the Wellfleet Oyster Festival. This year the Round Robin will take place on Saturday October 18 from 11 AM-1 PM at the Mayo Beach Tennis Courts on Kendrick Avenue. Rain date is Sunday, October 19.
Cost of entry is $20.00.
All proceeds from this year?s event will go to ?Rally for the Cure?. Rally for the Cure is a series of grassroots events created through a partnership with Susan G. Kormen for the Cure. Since 1996 Rally for the Cure has proudly spread the life saving message of early detection to more than 1.2 million participants through golf events.
Now, Rally is reaching beyond the golfing community by offering a unique and easy opportunity for everyone to get involved in the breast cancer movement while doing something they love. The Komen Award and Research Grant Program supports innovative breast cancer research and a variety of meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world. It is the world?s largest and most progressive grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists.
?Names of Love??If you do not play tennis and would like to support the cause you may fill out the name of a person you know that has had cancer touch their life and, for the price of a one dollar donation, tie it on the tennis fence. We are hoping to have a fence filled with pink ribbons for everyone at the Oysterfest to see. We will also have necklaces and bracelets for sale.
To sign up for the Oysterfest round robin please send your name, telephone number and a check for $20.00 to ?Rally for the Cure? to:
