Free Weekly Wine Tasting Class Offered in Dennis

Free Wine Tasting Class to be held at Ring. Bros. Marketplace

Harney’s Liquors at Ring Bros Marketplace will offer a free wine tasting class beginning Wednesday, October 15 from 6-7pm.

The class will be held every Wednesday until December 17 at the demonstration center.

The class will be taught by Ed Makuta, Harney’s resident sommelier. This will be Ed’s second series of classes and he is excited about teaching this informative class. “I hope to teach people to be more confident and comfortable going to the wine store.” said Makuta “With the information provided in these classes they will gain the knowledge and confidence to try new wines.”

Makuta has worked in various wine stores for over 8 years and is a popular addition to the Harney’s team. “Ed has been doing a great job, the customers really enjoy his recommendations and is knowledge of wine is vast.” said Marc Riengold, owner of Harney’s. Before his career in the wine industry, Makuta was a Chef / Owner of a restaurant in South Yarmouth for 16 years.

This class will concentrate on different grape varietals, starting with a basic introduction to wine.

• Oct. 22:  CHARDONNAY
• Oct. 29:  MERLOT
• Nov. 05: PINOT GRIS/GRIGIO
• Nov. 12:  CABERNET SAUVIGNON
• Nov. 19:  SAUVIGNON BLANC
• Nov. 26:  ** NO CLASS **
• Dec. 03:   PINOT NOIR
• Dec. 10, OTHER WHITES
• Dec. 17, OTHER REDS          

In addition to the lecture participants will sample various wines that tie into that week’s class. All participants tasting wine must be over 21 years of age and have positive identification.
