Maffei Landscape of Mashpee to Give Away 100 Christmas Trees During Holiday Charity Drive

Local Cape Codder spreads holiday cheer this Christmas

MASHPEE -- Maffei Landscape Contractors wants to help deck the halls and spread a little holiday cheer on the Cape this December. The Mashpee-based landscaping company will give away 100 Christmas trees on Sunday in exchange for a donation to the Toys for Tots Foundation or the Bourne Food Pantry.  The tree giveaway will be the centerpiece of a holiday extravaganza, which will also include a visit from Santa Claus, children?s activities and goodies.

"As a company, we wanted to do something that would include the whole community and provide support to those who need a helping hand this season," said Robert Maffei, Founder and President of Maffei Landscape Contractors.

The free event takes place on Sunday, December 14th from 11am?2pm. Maffei Landscape employees will be on hand to load Christmas trees into the first 100 vehicles arriving with a donation of either a bag of non-perishable food, a winter jacket or a new unwrapped children?s toy. All donations will be given to Toys for Tots and the Bourne Food Pantry.

Attendees can also get their picture taken with Santa Claus, play on an indoor moonbounce, and enjoy cookies, cider, and other gourmet goodies. Pixy 103 will broadcast live from the event, providing a back-drop of festive, holiday music.

"As we all know, these are tough economic times. I?ve lived on the Cape my entire life and the community has always been very good to me and my company.  I hope that on Sunday we'll be doing our small part to give something back." Mr. Maffei, is a graduate of Barnstable High School and started his landscaping company during his junior year.
