Generous & Young at Heart: the Residents of Whitehall Estate in Hyannis

Whitehall residents are filled with holiday cheer this Christmas season

HYANNIS - The residents of Whitehall Estate, Senior Living in Hyannis chose The Salvation Army?s "Dress a Live Doll" as their 2008 Good Deed Day Project.  "Dress a Live Doll" provides new clothing for more than 1,500 of Cape Cod?s impoverished children.

Originally, the generous residents and staff of Whitehall Estate were going to dress two children this holiday.  But the response was overwhelming and they dressed six children instead!  Undergarments, pajamas, several outfits, outer wear, shoes and even toys for children  ages 3-7 were graciously provided.   The staff created a childrens' boutique (right) in the private dining room where the shopping took place.  Residents filled six large cartons for each child!

In addition to charitable projects, Whitehall Estate?s active residents enjoy a variety of daily activities.  Most recently to get everyone in a festive holiday mood, they created an entire Gingerbread Village.  Residents worked for hours making the smallest details come alive.

The Gingerbread Village is now on display (below) for all of  Whitehall's friends and families to enjoy through the holiday season.

The very generous and young at heart residents and staff of Whitehall Estate wish you good health and happiness this holiday season!

Whitehall Estate is located at 790 Falmouth Road in Hyannis.  Call 508-790-7666 or visit their website here.
