Cotuit Center for the Arts Announces Auditions for "Schoolhouse Rock Live!"

Auditions to be held January 4th, 5th & 7th, 2009
COTUIT - Director Stefanie Sertich will hold open auditions for Schoolhouse Rock Live! by Scott Ferguson, Kyle Hall and George Keating on Sunday, January 4 at 1pm and also on January 5 & 7 at 7pm at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.
Those who wish to audition are encouraged to sing 16 bars of song (please bring your own sheet music) and be prepared to tell a funny story or monologue.
We are looking for actors with day and evening availability during April school vacation week. Rehearsals will begin in March and show dates are scheduled for April 17-26, 2009.
Cast Descriptions:
Tom, Ages 20-25 (with flexibility) A young teacher who has just received his degree. Vocal Range: Baritone
- Dina, Ages 18-25 The mature side - thoughtful and grounded. Vocal Range: Mezzo
- Dori, Ages 16-20 The goofy side - silly and playful. Vocal Range: Mezzo
- Shulie, Ages 16-20 The sweet side - genuine. Vocal Range: Alto
- George, Ages 18-25 The romantic side - caring and in control. Vocal Range: Baritone
- Joe, Ages 16-20 The cool side - laid-back and fun-loving. Vocal Range: Baritone
- Ensemble, Ages 16-25. Minimum of 6-8 people. Can be any combination of males/females. Ideally would like a mix.
Schoolhouse Rock snuck education into Saturday mornings from the 70s through the 80s and now it's back and on stage. Tom is a new teacher with a case of classroom fright. As he hides with his TV the morning before his first day on the job, the cast of Schoolhouse Rock slips out of his TV to prove that learning can be a blast. Features all of the favorite Schoolhouse Rock songs.
The Cotuit Center for the Arts is located at 4404 Falmouth Road ( Route 28) in Cotuit.
