Cape Cod Chapter of the American Business Women's Assoc. Names Denise Dever of Forestdale ABWA Woman of the Year
Devers instrumental in growing the Cape Cod chapter
HYANNIS - The Cape Cod Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) announced Denise M. Dever of Forestdale as its Woman of the Year at the February business meeting.
A nominating committee voted for Denise as she is a member in good standing and she was nominated by several ABWA members. She lives the mission of the ABWA every day and has been instrumental in growing the chapter by continuously inviting guests to meetings and making them feel welcome and interested in participating.
After the announcement, Denise said: “ABWA means a lot to me and I am truly honored to receive this Award. I always look forward to coming to the meetings. Not just to network, but simply to be with friends, who I’ve come to know over the years.”
Denise M. Dever is the current president of the ABWA. She is also the President and Co-owner of Home Instead Senior Care located in Centerville and serving seniors in all of Barnstable County. Home Instead provides non medical home care services for seniors such as companionship, medication reminders, light housekeeping, laundry, incidental transportation and respite care. Her Home Instead office has been providing care for seniors on Cape Cod since March of 1998. Prior to this, Denise spent more than 26 years in the financial industry.
Denise holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Suffolk University and has actively served in a number of industry related groups. Besides being President of the ABWA Cape Cod Chapter, she is currently on the Board of Directors of the Sandwich Chamber, a member of the Cape Cod Chamber and the Hyannis Chamber, a Board member of the Workforce Investment Board of the Cape & Islands and the Programs Coordinator for Cape Cod’s Community Care Resource Group.
