Cape Chapter of the American Business Women's Assoc. Organizes Clothing Drop-off Trailer to Benefit Scholarships
On-going clothing drive will benefit organization's scholarship fund, supporting continued education
HYANNIS - The Cape Cod Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) is organizing an on-going clothing drive to benefit its Scholarship fund to support continued education of women on Cape Cod.
The special drop-off trailer is located at Macy’s in Hyannis, on the Rte. 132 side of the mall. The trailer is colorful and eye catching and is clearly marked with an ABWA sign. All clothing, shoes and linens are accepted.
The donations generated through this clothing drive will benefit the scholarship fund. Scholarships are typically awarded in August in support of deserving women who live on the Cape or Islands, must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and must be at least a second year student in their program. Last year, the ABWA was able to award three scholarships of $1,500 each.
For more information about the scholarship program or the ABWA, contact Chapter President Denise Dever at dmdever@capecod.com, write to ABWA, P.O. Box 958, Barnstable, MA 02630, or check out: www.abwacapecod.org.
