Troup, John MacLean, 90, of South Dennis, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Elsie (MacPhee) Troup. He is survived by his daughters, Judith Ladd of South Dennis and Debra Staples and husband Daniel of Dennis. He will be greatly missed by his 3 granddaughters, Amy Staples of Weymouth, Ashley Ringius and husband Adam of Braintree and Kimberly Staples of Weymouth. His 3 great grandchildren were the delight of his life. He was born in Quincy, MA on September 4, 1925. He was married to the love of his life in 1950 for 66 years. John served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. After the war, he worked for H.P. Hood and Sons for 32 years starting as a home delivery milkman and working his way up to distribution manager in Boston.In 1980, he went into business with his son-in-law, opening Bayside Equipment and was proud to be his business partner for 30 years. John was a member of Dennis Pines and the Highlands Gold Courses. Evangelical Baptist Church was a major part of his life where he was a member for 35 years. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rt. 134, South Dennis, MA. A service will follow on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, South Dennis.
