MaryJane “Janie” Chisholm, 85, of East Falmouth, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on March 13, 2016. She was the beloved daughter of the late James and Melissa Chisholm.
MaryJane graduated from Newton Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1952. She worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years including 20 years as a public health nurse for the city of Newton.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Court of our Ladies in Newtonville, MA. She was a parishioner of St. John’s Church in Wellesley for 50 years and St. Anthony’s Church in East Falmouth for 18 years. Janie was proficient in knitting and crocheting. She loved to make and donate homemade items to many local charities. She was a loving Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
MaryJane is survived by her sisters Helen MacLean Desmond of Falmouth, Dorothy Cranton of Falmouth, her brother William M. Chisholm of Falmouth and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother James P. Chisholm Jr of Mashpee and her sister BettyAnne Phillips of Libertyville, IL.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church 167 East Falmouth Hwy (Rte 28) East Falmouth on Monday March 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Falmouth.
