Warren L. Spurling, 74, after a short illness, passed away at his home while surrounded by his family. Warren was the loving son of the late Warren and Evelyn (Perry) Spurling and grew up in Gloucester. Being the son of a local ship builder he inherited the lifelong gift of being a jack of all trades.
Warren was a graduate of Gloucester High School and East Coast Technical School. Warren married Regina Walsh on Oct 13, 1962 and the two raised their children in Billerica and Weymouth. He worked for many years in the maintenance department at Roxbury Latin High School, retiring in 2008. Warren loved being with his family, traveling far and near with his wife, and he was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast. One of his favorite pastimes was building birdhouses and giving them to his family and friends.
He leaves his wife Regina (Walsh) Spurling of Bridgewater, his four daughters Maureen Cruz of St. Johns, FL Katherine Luiz and her husband Gerald of Bridgewater, Heather and her husband Mark Bodwell of Lakeville, and Erin and her husband Timothy Smith of Whitman. Proud Grandfather of Brendon, Daniel, Thomas, Selina, Maggie, Elizabeth, Emily, Nathan, and Leah.
Family and friends are cordially invited to the Prophett-Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater on Thursday April 28 at 9:00am. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Ann’s Church, 660 N. Main St. Raynham at 10:00 am followed by a burial at Mt. Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wed. from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
